I just got an email saying they are closing the waitlist for Vampirella and my reservation is being cancelled (Ordered back in Oct). Really sucks as I wanted to display her with the EX head. I hope I don't have to pay a fortune to get an exclusive now.

I don't think they would have taken your NRD money if you're on the waitlist. You should check up with them if they did take your deposit.

You're not charged a nrd just for getting on the waitlist. About the closure of the waitlist - could it be that Emperor is confusing the com with the pf? It would make sense to close/terminate the waitlist for the com.

SS has been closing some EX waitlists early, probably to "pursuade" folks into ordering of the Reg. They have done if for the Rogue, Skaar and now Vampirella PF's.

They might have, but I haven't been to that thread for a while and the only one I was on the WL for was Rogue, so I got the email - the rest I have pending orders for.
It is a stupid approach to it on their part. It is not like it hurts them in any way to keep it open and if you want the EX you are going to get it either from them or somewhere else. All it really does is inflate early prices on ebay...

that makes no sense to me. isn't the waitlist SPECIFICALLY for when people cancel? and the vast majority of cancellation come right upon release. if they're ending the waitlist early to urge folks to buy the regular, that sounds unethical...and then what the hell do they do with the pieces that are inevitably canceled at release?? please don't tell me they send those 2nd chance "we found some in the warehouse!" emails, because that would reeeally be unethical.

I placed my order for the PF. So their isn't a mix-up. In the email it stated they don't expect many cancellations but how could they possibly know that? I had no idea SS employed psychics.

That's funny. But yeah, no way I'm canceling here. She looks so amazing, plus if worse comes to worse, the resale is going to be through the roof on this one just like the comiquette.

Maybe it's just that they are finally getting a feel for demand, the employing of the NRD, and it's effect on cancellations, and maybe, just maybe, they kept say 100 or so names, first come of course, on the list, and nixed the rest...

Just a thought.

Doesn't appear it's closed at all. Looks like SSC also changed there search engine.

You are on the right page, but you won't get charged unless it converts - it is in the terms and conditions.

Yep they did it with Rogue - emailed the cancelled waitlist for a first in best dressed opportunity to score a few EX's cos they had "came across a few in their warehouse".
I waitlisted the same day it sold out and they should have contacted the waitlisters in order not sent out a lottery email which for me arrived at 3am.
I tried to get one and missed out but it turns out these were all "distressed" stock anyway which was nice of them not to mention in the first email but the second one telling me they were all sold.
