Interesting, might explain my issue. I'm not big on breakfast so on weekends I just wake up, have a big lunch, average dinner and that's it.
Same here Maulfan. I dislike breakfast. In fact it's hard for me to even try and eat so early in the morning. Usually it makes me want to throw up. I have been this way since High School but lately I have been forcing myself to eat, drink rather, an instant breakfast in the morning. your body needs the calories for fuel and it also helps to jumpstart your metabolism.

I also enjoy large dinners when I should be doing the opposite. Alas, it is my favorite meal. :monkey2 Going to bed after eating doesn't help at all. The folks who eat dinner around 6 or 7 probably have it right.

Still won't eat breakfast, partly beacuse I'm usually waking up at lunctime when I don't eat breakfast :lol, but I will start being more sensible with what I eat.

That's another thing I have thought about. The earlier we wake, the sooner we begin to burn our excess. I noticed when I was younger and had to wake up at around 5 or 6 to go to school I was super thin. Everyone would tell me to eat something all the time. Needless to say, I loved it. :lol However, when I found my way to college I was waking up much later and subsequently put on some pounds. I know, too many variables to factor in and I can't really place it all on this card. But it does make sense.

Now to force myself to wake up at 5 or 6 again.... ummmmm :lol

There may be some truth to the waking up theory, but for me when I got up earlier, I went to sleep earlier. When I sleep til noon I also don't go to bed until like 2 am, it's still a lot of sleep but not like going to bed at 10 and getting up at noon. My biggest enemy is probably that I only sleep like 5 hours a night during the work week. Big thing a lot of folks do that thankfully I don't is eating snacks before bed, it's really bad because your body is shutting down and doesn't process it like during the day.

There is also this side of the coin.

Eat often. Berardi recommends eating every 2 to 3 hours. Each time you eat, you stimulate your metabolism for a short period of time, which means that the more often you eat, the more you’ll increase your metabolism. Eating every 2 to 3 hours feeds muscle and starves fat. By eating frequently, you reassure your body that you aren’t going to starve; that food will always be available. Skipping breakfast, eating only a sandwich for lunch, and pigging out at dinner, on the other hand, frightens your body into storing fat, just in case your next meal never comes. Research from Georgia State University shows that people who eat every 2 to 3 hours have less body fat and faster metabolisms than those who eat only 2 or 3 meals per day.

Although I do believe this is true, I also don't believe that this is what our bodies were designed to do or handle. It's too much and almost impossible in an unmodernized society.

I used to be a fitness trainer and this is basically what I prescribed to my clients in order to bump up their metabolism

A bit off topic but any men wanna reveal their weight (I would never aska lady her weight). I'm kind of curious...no one has to of course.

I am 6'0" and weigh 195 lbs. I am a foodaholic.

Rory you have been smoking the weed today, haven't you? you are "philosophising" too much to not be. :lol

i think our bodies just adapt to whatever our routine is. back in the day when they had to hunt they couldn't eat as much as we do today...of course they also don't have all the preservatives and chemicals in their food like we do today.

eat in moderation and exercise and it's all good.

5'9" and about 170-175 lbs. Not happy at all since when I came from school I was clocking in at about 155-160.

I have been out of college for 3 years and senior year I was 160 lbs. I feel more manly now I guess, people say I look better than before but I think I want to lose like 20 lbs and I'll be good. I look totally normal, but my Body Mass Index classifies me as overweight...I think the BMI is total BS. A 5'6 perosn who is 190 lbs of muscle is not obese...albeit I am not buff by any means :lol

BMI is BS, don't go by that. People are too different. If you are healthy and feel good, that's all that matters.

I agree with our bodies not meant to eat meat. at least not red meat. I think our bodies do the best with veggies and fish. I admit I love a burger now and then, but when I do eat one i feel sick after. I don't eat red meat very often and I notice a big difference in my body and energy after I do eat it. I love friut its like candy to me. I have my kids hooked on it. They think of it as dessert after dinner. Im glad cause when I was a kid I had so many trips to the dentist from cavitys, my poor baby teeth :( My kids teeth are great. I think what good health habits you pass down is very important. I don't want to be one of those old sickly people because of poor eating habits. :sick Its starts now and then for the rest of your life :)
