Hi Everyone, I recently got my hands on a C.O.P.S Longarm figure MOC Unpunched but being a loose figure collector i always open any MOC figures i find. But i heard this one was rare so i didnt want to open it yet although finding a mint loose one with all accessories is also hard to find. :dunno

A lot of vintage collectors look down upon opening nice MOC figures. IMO I'd keep this a buy a loose long arm, or a MOC version that has a poor enough card to open.... Or hell, sell this nice MOC and just buy a loose version and you'd be up a couple bucks.

This! :lecture:lecture:lecture :exactly:

It doesn't make sense to fork over cash for a MoC unless you prefer them that way before opening.

A friend gave the figure to me as he knew i collected figures so i didnt actually pay anything, But he said i could open it as he knew i collected loose figures. Ive bought quite a few figures MOC and opended them but only as i got them cheap and they were not worth much more. But i really want to fire the still sealed in caps as i havent even seen caps in toy stores since 1992! :fireworks

Damn, that really brings me back.... I can still remember unrolling the caps and hitting them with a hammer one by one... good memories. :D

Ghetto bastard. I used a cap gun! :lol :nana:

The real money though was taping them to a Cabbage Patch Kid and setting it on fire! :yess:

Of course, this was done only after my sister and her friend had tossed all my '82 Joes down the sewer.

I used cap guns too, of course.:dunno

____ing hell! You had every right to burn the doll. :(

When newer versions of the figures came out, I put the older ones in these acrylic spoon boxes my mom had and tucked them away in a shelf on my hutch. I guess her and her friend thought it'd be fun to drop them down and watch them float off. My mom caught me taping up a third Cabbage Patch Kid (sis of course had run in screaming) and I got busted while she got off scott free because in my mom's eyes, they were garbage anyway since I had newer versions... I actually had to replace the burnt Cabbage Patch Kids with my allowance. :monkey1

There were loads of toys in the late 80s with caps. There were the Guns of course but you also had the Thunder Punch He Man, Robocop Ultra Police and C.O.P.S. Ive seen caps online before but not in the shops since i was young. I think they were banned the same day as Realistic looking Guns all you can get now are Day-Glo bright green or orange rubbish thats in the UK anyway

You can still find them here at Fleamarkets, Mexican grocerie/junk stores and everywhere in Chinatown.

Were you the older sibling? It was just me and my brother and he learned very early that throwing yourself to the ground and yelling "Mom! Richie hit me!" worked really well in terms of getting me in trouble... Of course i also figured out that I may as well start taking cheap shots while he was on the ground since I was going to get in trouble anyway. Gotta get my punishments worth. :lecture

Older by 17 months. And yeah. She got away with the brunt of things with me getting blamed more often than not (which most of it wasn't even stuff I did). Not a far stretch to see why we don't talk now. :lol

But yeah, she always got away with breaking a lot of my toys back then. :monkey1

I usually go garage sailing locally on Saturday mornings but rarely have any luck. This past Sat afternoon my buddy calls me up and says "You're never going to believe what I just got." I go over to his place and this was 3/4 of his find:

And here's the kicker, it was all $10! I couldn't believe it so I headed over to the house where he got them. After some digging in more boxes I managed to scrape together all this for $1:

Yes, that is the same MASK Jackhammer, he let me have it.

Dayum, I'm jealous MadCow. :( Congrats to your buddy!

Yeah, I'm jealous of his haul too. He's not much of a collector and is on hard times so he'll probably sell it all which kills me. Maybe if I keep guilting him I can wear him down. :lol
