That's been on my buy list for quite a while. It's one of my favorite albums from the 90s.

Fun Fact: My parents were very religious when I was in high school (they still are, but less so in the "the music has backmasking!" sense). So when I left the lyrics book to MCIS lying around, they threw out my CD (even though I had the foresight to cut out the "**** You" part of the "An Ode to No One" title. They didn't know it was a double disc, so I still had Twilight to Starlight. This literally happened three times. I blame myself partially, since by that point I should have learned to hide Dawn to Dusk better.

But to this day, I own four copies of disc 2 and one copy of disc 1 on CD.

That's funny! :lol

My wife's parents were the same way. She had to hide a cassette of Van Halen's in the case of Duran Duran so they didn't know she was listening to hard rock. :lol

What kind of world did you guys live in? Oh right, the same crazy world. The world may change/even evolve over time, but crazy will always be there.

Mellon Collie came today.

Picking it up from my mailbox was fantastic - it was just so heavy.

It's not my favorite album ever, but it would rank very high for me. But rankings aside, the album is just very important to me, and came along at the perfect time. So finally having this beast on vinyl is glorious.

Just looking at it, my reaction was basically...

(and, based on the cover art - quite literally)

Sadly, the negative reviews were correct and it's a weak pressing. I had to turn the stereo up to 7 just to fill the room. Still cool, but I'm glad I didn't spring for the colored vinyl.

As consolation, I got this today.

Agreed, I was hoping it was just the setup but it is truly a weak pressing.

I am hoping when I get a new pre-amp it will be a touch better, but I'm not expecting much.

Who me, or Chien? :p If you mean moi, you do understand I have the fourth most posts in this thread. So it shouldn't be surprising. Soon, I'll be in the top 3 spot! What do I get? :p

And yeah, Chien has now been acclimated within the vinyl culture. I am so proud of our China man.

It probably was.... hehe

But seriously (looks serious), he knows the guy who did the screen write for the film personally and is a big fan, so it makes sense.
