Cool. I don't have any Mondo stuff. Eli gets pretty excited about it, but I had no idea they pressed records. Are the sleeves Mondo art or something?

Their sleeves are artsy, of course. I only bought Halloween because I love the soundtrack and I was able to order it direct easily.

I just saw the Twins of Evil soundtrack they have up right now. Wicked nice red vinyl. I know about the film's reputation, but I've never seen it.

Still, my first reaction to the album was that I want it. :lol

That sounds awesome. I've told myself that my limit is $100 per album, no matter what. We'll see how long that lasts. The sole remaining colored Sonic Youth album I want is rare and can go for a lot (Sister, purple vinyl, 500 pressed). Thankfully I am limited by lack of funds. That pink EVOL has gone for a lot too, but I waited and got it for $30.

Most I've paid yet is $60 for that Phenomena soundtrack. It would have been Hendrix Blues for $80, but I got a $30 refund for a tear in the sleeve.

Limited funds helps a lot. Otherwise I would own that KISS set. Lots of color vinyl. :(

:horror

I was about to post that it would be nice to have that kind of money to blow, but I already get embarassed spending what I do on these. After seeing that pic, my philosophy has flipped 180 degrees.

Limited funds sucks. :lecture

I'm still tempted to sell some stuff to put towards this box set. There are quite a few vinyl records that are exclusive to this set.

Ok, $500 for the first set is expensive. About $55 per album. It's still really cool.

The big set is worth the money, for sure. I dig the extras. It's just...a lot of money.

Originals in good condition are awesome. Reissues pressed in archival quality vinyl (virgin, high weight) is a different animal. The potential is there for greater or lesser quality sound, regardless of weight or age. I think the advantage with reissues is that you can get them new for much less money than you can mint vintage.

I realized mint vintage Rush and KISS vinyl was more than the reissues, so I went with reissues. Plus I love opening a brand new copy and listening to it.

I have zero interest in KISS. That said, that box set is awesome. Even as a non-fan I'm sort of thinking, "Maybe I need that." But the price, and the - you know - not liking KISS helps.

My recent pickup was much more reasonable, about $16.
