The rule of thumb for any Credit Card IMHO is simple. Is the APR low? Is the Annual Fee worth the benefits of the card? Are there are "rewards/perks" for using it. If it doesn't met that criteria why bother?

Yeah. If the perks aren't worth the annual fee to you then don't bother. You'd just be losing money on it. I'd personally stick with a regular card. There is no service a CC company could give me to make me want to pay that annual fee. I don't care if I made more money than Bill Gates.

Which is why I'm asking if anyone here has it. The whole 1% thing and invite only is a marketing tactic by Visa. Bottom line is you do have to get an invite, but you only have to meet the three requirements I posted. The 24/7 conceirge and free gifts throughout the year are what I'm curious about 1% cash back per every 100 spent by years end can drasctically reduce the $495 annual fee. So I want to know about the perks and rewards and if they are what they proclaim them to be for cost of the annual fee.

I say get it, give it a try for a year and see how you like it. Worse case you loose $495, which isnt that much over the course of a year.

DO IT!!!!

Yeah do it. Everyone needs a mistake in their life. The one instance where they say "damn I wish I never did that."

LOL.

I'm not doing ^^^^ unless I hear from an actual person who has one. I've researched and researched and can't find anything legit about the rewards from actual consumers. I've read everything from the free gifts being 2 free plane tickets anywhere in the US, high end purses, down to a measily ball point pen. The concierge service supposedly rocks but that alone ain't worth it for me. I want first hand accounts and free ^^^^ if I'm paying an annual fee for anything. I don't open accounts and close them because it hurts your credit so if it opens it stays open.

I think wofford29 is talking about Barclays Visa Black Card. Not the original Centurion American Express Black Card that all the big balla's have.

Centurion American Express Black Card

Annual Fee: $2,500 (with a one-time $5,000 initiation fee for the first year)

Minimum Spending: $250,000 in a 12 month period.

Exceptional credit history required.

I personally couldn't swing the $500 annual fee even to screw around with it for one year. If you can swing it though, I say do it....how many people can say they had one?
