WDCC are the most "on model" of all versions of Disney Characters. Many of them are sculpted by the same artists that sculpted the original maquettes used in the production of the films. Fine porcelain is a beautiful medium that captures the characters perfectly. I much prefer the WDCC to the Medicom. Its like comparing Robinsoe Crusoe to Gilligan's Island.

Have to agree with you on this one! Kent Melton, who sculpts many of the aforementioned maquettes, does/or did do a number of pieces for WDCC. I originally picked up a Pocahontas maquette (limited to 999) and it was film reference quality.

I would love to see a HM series, except I know I'll then be compelled to shell out the money for the Hitchhiking Ghosts as well as the organist is I don't get one from Downtown Disney.

Well, I went to Downtow Disney today. I saw the Miniture Magic Kingdom pieces. Now I plan to start the collection when I get some spare money. :lol

Me too! Since I didn't get tickets to the event I'll have to go to the park the next day around 5 am just to see if I can even pick up the organist and other items.

are you talking about the Haunted Mansion Event on 9/9/09 ?

I am really looking forward to that, its getting closer and closer

I went last week and I think the castle is all I'm going to get. I love the others, but I'd have to have the whole set up and I can't imagine having that kind of space. If I ever do though, I'm there. For now I'm going to keep concentrating on the WDCC pieces. Up next Cogsworth.

Good to know. Lumiere needs someone to hang with. I'm seriously considering getting the Jiminy Progression where it shows "I made myself at home" Jiminy in resin, then painted resin, unpainted porcelain, and then the final product.

Yeah I'm pretty stoked about it, I might try and looking on Craigslist for some reasonable tickets for the event. I'm assuming you can't get any of the items till the night of the event then, they will sell the left overs the next day. Which is why I'll have to be at the park around 5 am ugh.

If you can get some stuff it'll be worth getting there early. Why 5 though, what time does it open?

they open at 8 but I was there for the 45th anniversary of the Tiki room and there was a line from Disneyanna all the way to like the emporium on mainstreet, so I wanna be there early so that I can at least be in the front of the line or one of the first to get in.

Also I got some ok stuff for the Tiki Room anniversary but I didn't wait in line I just got the left overs no one really cared for not the low numbered stuff.

I'm not familiar with Disneyland's layout, but that sounds like an awfully long line. Good luck on getting some goodies. I've got my fingers crossed on that Organist. Although it could be the start of something bad. :lol

yeah it was a super long line at least for something Disney related like that, as for Haunted Mansion it has a huge following so the line might be even longer like to the entrance. So I'm bracing myself for the worst.
