By now it was about 5:30pm and we had reservations for Blue Bayou. Food tip, don't get the Monte Christo here. They serve it at Cafe Orleans as well but it's cheaper there than it is in here.

Just too much fried

I've gotten the Monte at Cafe Orleans, but it's way too much food for one sitting.

Unrelated but I'm going to Universal Orlando December 6 and 7th (Saturday and Sunday). I land on December 5th so I'll probably hit up a Disney restaurant that evening that isn't in the park (since it's Walt Disney's birthday). Any suggestions? I have a list from a friend that frequents there but it'll be nice to hear some other feedback as well.


As for Walt Disney World, I'm undecided if I'll go this time… maybe a day or two but certainly not much more. If I do go to WDW it might be Mon Dec 8 and Tues Dec 9.

Boma is my favorite restaurant in WDW, full stop. It's a buffet, though - I know some people aren't always as into that. I did Jiko next door for the first time this year, and was a little underwhelmed (especially for the price).

Yachtsman Steakhouse is fantastic, as well.

Despite my love for everything "old" in Disney parks, I just don't like Storybook Land. Maybe when I go with a kid, but even as someone who enjoys almost every mundane activity in the parks, that ride is bleh.

But I'll be damned if the Monstro entrance isn't one of the coolest things in the park. Especially with that night lighting.

Hi, we're planning a trip to Disney World. Does anybody know what the best strategy would be for the Fastpass+ system. Should you reserve your 3 fast passes for as early in the day as possible? That way you can get more fast passes at one of the Kiosks for later in the day. The risk here is that the good rides may run out of passes. Plus early in the day, its not as crowded so you don't really need to have fast passes then.

Or should you make your 3 fast pass reservations for the afternoon when it is more crowded? The issue here is you most likely wont be able to get any more fast passes after the original 3 run out in the late afternoon. I appreciate any help any one can give. Thanks!
