Does anyone have a clear photo of the small scene at the entrance for Pirates of the Caribbean from Disneyland? It's a small sand bar that the boats float by with a treasure chest, map and pirate flag. Any help appreciated!

Sean

I haven't taken a pic of that in a while but can attempt next time.

Quick google search found this... is there anything specific you're trying to get?

Thanks, yeah I saw that but from what I read that's Disneyworld (and I heard there were differences, but maybe not?). Not really looking for anything specific, just need to know what it looks like now at Disneyland.

Also would be interested to know what it looked liked when it first opened and/or in the early years.

I don't believe Disney World has that scene. If you open that image in a new window, it says "California" in the web address.

I see. I found a nearly identical photo online and that said it was from Disneyworld, but maybe whoever posted it was wrong. I've never been to DW so I wasn't certain of the differences. Thanks for the info and photo!

All the cool Krusty memorabilia is upstairs in the seating area. Springfield was built upwards to hide Hogsmeade from view.

Inside Moe's Tavern. When it comes to Moe's, I definitely prefer the layout and exterior of the Orlando version, which is both truer to scale and layout. There's a much longer bar area and only two ins and outs... rather than four, making Hollywood Moe's a section with too much foot traffic.

And the interior of Cletus' Chicken Shack. The Chicken Shack is next to Moe's is next to Krusty Burger.. Cletus and Krusty are separate quick serve locations, not the food court style you have in Orlando. You can order Duff and Flaming Moe at both eating locations.

Alright... time to catch up on 4 months of Disneyland photos!

Located in Hollywood Land, they built a temporary attraction called Olaf's Snow Fest.

Any word on when Disney may add more Star Wars, Frozen, or Marvel rides an attractions?

I remember reading not long ago that there will be a Frozen ride made in the Norway section in Epcot.

Haven't heard anything about new Marvel rides, seeing as Universal still have quite a few in their Marvel section. I don't know whether they will be able to keep these or have to rebadge them to something else once their license expires.

I've heard rumours about a Star Wars Disney Park, but I don't know if that will ever happen. I think they should just make Hollywood Studios mainly Star Wars because imo that is the worst park out of the four. The rides are very dated and the shows are as well. It does seem like they got rid of the Backlot tour ride for a new Frozen attraction, but I didn't go on it, so I'm not sure what it is exactly.

With Shanghai Disney World opening next year, they're probably putting all their money into that right now lol

Frozen is replacing Norway's Maelstrom. That is officially happening and in the process of happening. That should open early next year.

Marvel is not happening at Walt Disney World but there are talks about adding a Marvel area to California Adventure.

Star Wars is definitely on the table for all parks and while I'd prefer it go to Florida first (they need it more), it may happen to Disneyland first and there are rumors that the land will take over Mickey's Toon Town.

This might be good news to many who don't like Toon Town (what's the matter with toon town? every joe loves toon town!) but Toon Town at Disneyland closes at 8pm every day. It's cleared out for safety reasons as the fireworks are fired right behind that land and they don't want to be held accountable if anyone is injured by the falling ashes. So that location for a land is not my first pick.

D23 Expo (disney convention) is happening in August. Expect ANY announcements if any to happen then.

I don't know if I like all the Disney character/Star Wars crossovers that much. They make Star Wars a lot more kiddie than it used to be.

Well those figures are coming to an end, with the exception of the plush dolls. So you kind of get your wish. Same with the Cars Mashups too.

I actually really like almost all of the Disney / SW crossover stuff. I may not be interested in buying, but I always think it looks interesting on the shelf.

But pun or not, that Cars car in carbonite is stupid as hell.

I like playing with the ideas of mashups, but the Disney ones need a little bit more thought for my tastes. Chip n Dale as Ewoks are great. Donald as Stormtrooper and Darth Maul and Han Solo... not so much. Goofy as Jar Jar, Chewbacca, C-3PO, Darth Vader... same thing. It's lazy.

Scrooge McDuck should be Yoda perhaps... not Stitch, who is also the Emperor. One character per character would be my rule if they redo this.

I think star wars taking over toon town would work if they simply just use the area for the show buildings. Meaning the lines for the rides start somewhere else (fantasyland or tomorrowland) and end up back there and everything is indoors. That's how Indiana Jones is setup. That would prevent having to close the area early for the fireworks. It would be sad to loose roger rabbit though.

But at Hollywood Studios they could really go all out there and do something really expansive and amazing.

Does anyone here collect/display maps/guides from the parks?

I never used to bother as a kid, but as an adult I always make a point of keeping my tickets and a pristine map. Right now they are just in boxes, but would be good to get an idea of what to do with them.

We went to Japan a couple of weeks back (photos to follow one day), and they sold a sort of map folder that I thought was very nice. Not sure if the other parks do this and I hadn't noticed?
