This is easily a 9/10 for me. Only reason it doesn't get a full 10 is the emotional impact of the ending I was waiting for. But that doesn't mean this isn't just about perfect. So many jaw dropping moments where I was thinking "I can't believe that was in a big budget film". Just a perfect ending to this trilogy of films that were way better than expected and I think the rare case where each sequel improves on the previous film. Can't think of another trilogy that did that, not even Star Wars, LotR or Nolan Batman.

I have to say that this is one of the movies I have really been looking forward to seeing this summer.

Excellent movie. Felt more like a fall movie though. It doesn't just evaporate as you're watching it like so many other summer movies do. It's intense, it's filled with emotion, it's really gorgeous to look at and it really wraps up the story we've been following for the last three movies in a great way.

No spoilers here...If you've enjoyed these new apes movies, you should really like this one. The only thing that was odd about seeing it tonight was the theater was barely a quarter full...20 people, if that. This movie felt like one person's vision, not these pre-screened, focus - group, expensive messes we see so much of any more. I hope this does well so studios will see it's okay to approach these big - budget tent pole movies without that checklist and committee. ..

Going next week. Without any specifics, is there any kind of hint that two thousand years down the road, this world will be like the originals? (Kind of like the way they teased Taylor in the first movie with the news report and headline about missing astronauts)

Well hot damn, they managed a TRIFECTA! Saw this movie last night and was blown away. They have consistently set the bar with CGI and fleshed out this
world with every consideration to detail. Definitely the darkest of the three and LOADS of feels. Very little is given to cause you to waver between choosing sides (spoiler/non spoiler: it ain't us). Gorgeous, gorgeous film. A solid 9/10. :rock:yess:

Yes. If you can ignore the date on the original ship which was 1972 I think, the film pretty much sets up the world we knew from the original film. I hope they leave it like this and no more films. Getting Reeves to make the last two films was a God send and having somebody new step in could mess up the legacy he has left. There are many references that long time Apes fans will see in War that echo what is to come if you read it that way. Perfect way to do it also. I was thrilled to see the scarecrow silhouette used which is always a bit haunting for me in the original film.

Agreed. Just an almost perfect film that I've been thinking about since I saw it. Makes me want to go again immediately

Mine had some kind of problem, started off all pink and turquoise blue, then had to restart the movie about 20 minutes in
