well, GD it..the estimates have been upped to 7-9" of snow 
They're THINKING about going ahead and canceling school tomorrow because it's supposed to start snowing in the morning then really cut loose at noon. I sure hope they do because it's such a pain in the ass closing school early.
The weathermen here said we could get upward of 12". If we get that much, we'll be closed all week.

We only get 5 per year but that's changing next year. It will only be two then, then the year after that, none. Any day missed will have to be made up from day one. Our governor is making the change. He's also proposing going all year long and 10 hour days. Of course he's not saying where the extra money to do this is going to come in. The school districts sure couldn't afford it.

Bad thing is that it's been 0-25 for weeks and there is nothing insulating the soil, which will end up freezer burned, so to speak. That'll throw the planting season completely off kilter.

It's snowing like crazy out! I don't mind it at all, but my dog refuses to poo on the snow so I have to dig him a big area to go. I've been going out and trying to keep the spot open for him. What's bad is I have to clean off the deck and stairs to get out and to get him out. Just when I start to get warm, I have to go back out and clean it off again. That's how hard it's coming down.

Same here...snowing like crazy. Has been none stop since midnight and it is suppose to snow non stop here until tomorrow afternoon. I decided to come to work today though. I only live about 5 mins away fortunately.

My three kids got to see it snow for the first time. It was quite a lot of fun. They made a snowman that was apparently supposed to loook like me, threw snowballs and my daughter made a snow angel. Then we all got cold and wet and grouchy. But it was still a fun experience.
