That commercial is awesome!

About those vinyl kits, another problem is most of them on ebay are recasts of an older kit, and they are usually very warped and hard to put together right so they look good. I am sure the original kit wasn't perfect to begin with but it could be the kits warp over time and they recast a warped kit. Anyhow I was gonna get one a while back, but a friend of mine that builds a lot of models said to avoid vinyl models of anything that's suppose to have a lot of symmetrical shapes in it.

Anyhow, just passing that along.

I am keen to paint an astromech for Obiwan for a long time.

After I bought the new Taito's R2, plus the hasbro R2 turned yellowish.
It is time I deicded to mask up the droid & repaint a R4-P17. :yess:

Nice guess, Dorgmal Snow. :clap I used TAMIYA spray paint.

Lets see more :r2d2line:r2d2line in, guys. :clap :yess:

Wonderful stuff Iceberg, wonderful. It must of taken you hours to mask it all up. I may have to give it a go rather than hand painting them all the time. Do you use that tamiya masking tape? its great.
Love to see more of your stuff.

Manticore... it would be a pleasure.. I am gonna start to do a dirty old R5 for Chakaman new baby boy this week. I love em.

Finally got around to finishing adding more articulation to my Clanker . Now I just need to scribe detail on the shoulders ( built up with Milliput ) and clean ( well, dirty ) up the paintwork . May add some colour markings ( pilot/security/whatever ) as well . I added ball joints to the neck , shoulders and hips , as well as a "cut" joint at the upper biceps. The shoulders and hips had to be built up from scratch to facilitate this , so the hips are actually a bit bigger than they originally were . I intend doing another , so I might even try and add more joints to the ankles .

Chuffin grand!!!!!!!! Love it really brings it to life with the articulation AAH thats another one to put on the LIST.

What did you use for the ball joints?

The joints are Lego Bionicle parts . Great , but the smallest are still a little big . The shoulders and hips ( as I said ) had to be scratch built . Not difficult as such , just a bit trial and error . The next one should be a lot easier !

NICE! I wonder if STICKFAS ball/socket joints would be small enough?

But when you said the Bionicle sockets were too big, I immediately thought of Stikfas! ;)

Now I want to cut up the Battledroids I have stashed! Need to grab some white Stikfas. :lol
