Dorgmal Snow, normal masking tape I used. Sorry for the late :impatient: reply.

Thundergod, I love your battle droid. :hi5:

I have a Stap & battle droid model kit that I am going to fix. Can you show me which parts you had done. I need to figure out where to start with & make more articulation. Thanks

I plan on doing a couple more Droids, ( I also have the STAP kit , if anything , this should be easier to work with than the Hasbro , as the injection plastic lends itself to the process better )
so I'll post some W.I.P shots when I do . In the meantime , these are the Lego parts I used for the shoulder and hip joints :

I placed the " ball" parts in the arm and hip using a straight forward pin arrangement . The " socket " part was the tricky bit as I had to remove the flat cylinder at the top of the leg ( where it joins the hip ) to accomadate the Lego part . The same with the shoulder . These bits were then re-built around the sockets with strip styrene and Milliput .

And Brinn , although the Stikfas joints are good for smaller joints , they might be too small to work with the hips and hold the weight of the Droid . I could well be wrong , as I don't have any Stikfas to hand at the moment ! As soon as I retreive mine , I'll definately use them for the ankle joints at least .:wink1:

Cool conpress for dorgs!

Seriously, awesome Droids chap some of the more simple changes ( like the orange r2) seem to look the most impressive- I suspect from the cleaness of ur painting

Lovely

Thanks guys! I've done about 40 of them...and I only have a few left, but I am still buying them on EBAY so I can do more. I did about 15 for a certain person, and I sold the rest. As for the ones I got left, I use them for "practice" and to tinker. I need to post my favorite one. The clear domes were fun...wish I had taken more pics of them, but I like the "splinter camouflage" one a-lot.
