Sorry love, no argument intended here either, but It just gets me down when I see folks coming on her and calling what others enjoy 'garbage'.

A reasoned explanation as to why someone dislikes something is fine, but just using that phrase can get peoples backs up, as it did mine rather.

I suppose that it doesn't help that we've had a fair bit of that recently on some other threads here lately.

So true! to have someone come on the thread that doesn't even watch the shows, make a comment just to get a rise. it can be frustrating. There was quite a bit of crude and ugly things said on the thread about the "best monster hunter", It got really heated. but I just stepped back and counted to ten, As much as I love these shows I try to remind myself a lot of these people just want to debate them for fun and laughs. We are out numbered, I'm afraid. But Joss fans are faithfull.

i dont think i can decide which show i like better. but i do think angel still had a lot of momentum left when it got cancelled. i think it could have produced at least one more stellar season if not more. buffy seemed to have run out of steam before the end mainly due to SMG being bored with her role. some of those episodes in season 7 are painful to sit through. with angel i was loving every minute right until the end.

As an overall series I preferred Buffy - each and every main character had a distinctive character arc through all the seasons. However there are episodes of Angel that are much better than any episode of Buffy.

Also Angel is a more mature series - aimed more at adults than teens.

Thankfully I don't have to choose between seeing either of them! :chew I like both of them for their respective strengths and in spite of their respective weaknesses, as far and few between as those seem to me!

I don't think either is my favorite, I appreciate them for what makes each series different from the other. I count both of them among my 'all-time favorite TV shows!

I CAN say I feel more sentimental about Buffy than I do Angel, because Buffy was first. And you never forget your "first"!

Nothing beats the first three seasons of Buffy in television history. Scratch that, in recent years season 4 has slowly won me over. So the first four seasons of Buffy. Love the Sunnydale High years.

Having said that, I felt that the 1st and last seasons of Angel are vastly superior to the 1st and last seasons of Buffy. I really didn't like the second half of season 2 to season 4 of Angel. Got too silly with the whole Plyea thing.

Wolfram and Hart in LA rocks... Plyea alternate universe.... wished it never was.

It seems like Joss' work is truly only realized when he himself is at the helm. Buffy was at its best when it had his full attention, Angel was at its best when it had more direct attention, but you can definitely tell when he started to get more on his plate with Firefly and such.
The stuff he does, with the teams he uses and oversees is untouchable.

Angel was an awesome show!!! I too liked it better than Buffy.....it was more adult themed and darker which also appealed to me. Have to say the final episode made me a bit teary.

If Joss has anything to do with I'm so there I can't wait for DOLLHOUSE but I got to say Angel is the best to me. it was just so cool and the last season was just priceless with spike.

The only reason I got into Buffy was becuase of Angel. I started watching Angel and then went back to catch up on Buffy. I love both shows, but I just thought Angel was the superior show.

Nevermind, I saw it was LameMoon. Like the guy, but sometimes his opinions is... well, lacking... both logically and with its intent.

Angel was an excellent series, but no matter what, I have to say Buffy will always be the dominant of the two series in my opinion.
