Well, I'm not really good with religion as I'm an atheist, but technically, wasn't Lucifer (the light bringer) banished because he wanted to bring knowledge (light) and thus freedom from God to the humans?

Which if I'm right fits the profile. A control freak God (Ford) and a Freedom For All Devil (Arnold)

Yep, order (Ford) and chaos (Arnold).

I'd love it if that's indeed what the show is alluding to with those two.

Lucifer/Satan/The Devil was cast out of heaven because of Pride; he didn't want to serve God, he wanted to BE God. :wave

Man, this series is soooooo GOOD! There is a certain artistic & intelligent vibe or story to it.

Arnold might be the Ghost in the Shell, in this world.

So, with the satellite uplink lasers embedded in the Hosts, I guess there was some truth to my theory about Industrial Espionage, though the MIB likely has nothing to do with it.

I thought guests can't be hurt?! The Union soldier could have choked that dude out during the heist, and he kept getting hit hard by the Confederate soldiers.

They can, I don't think they can be killed. They also can't harm each other, since Teddy jumped into defense mode when MIB went for Ford with a knife.

I think Ford controlled Teddy to intervene like how he can control the whole room to freeze on command.

Just started watching this - all caught up now. I'm absolutely loving it.

Would be interesting to see a few more female guests enjoying Westworld. We've had a few lesbian/bisexual women, of course, because HBO needs their girl-on-girl action. But given how we see quite a few male guests use Westworld for sex and rape, I confess I'm curious how it works for female guests. And gay men, actually. Do all of the robots - even the ones romantically paired up with other robots (ex. Teddy), have to do whatever a guest wants? Could a female guest rape a male robot?Do the robots have the ability to fight people off? How far can they go? We have seen a robot choking a guy during a fight... How much physical harm are they allowed to inflict?

These are the things I wonder about when I can't sleep. :rotfl It's an interesting concept, that's for sure.

Here's the biggest problem with that theory:

The MIB says he's been going to Westworld for over 30 years. We see William arrive at the park for the first time so if that theory is true that would mean Williams arrival/story takes place over 30 years ago. In the last episode, the MIB mentions how Teddy (who's dying and bleeding) used to be beautiful before the park changed the internal structures of the hosts giving them faux-blood and bones to make them indistinguishable from humans. Meaning, the MIB remembers hosts BEFORE they were upgraded to bleed from injuries.

But that's the problem, because ALL of the hosts killed during Williams storyline bleed when they're shot.

Yes and yes.

Minimal. They can't kill or wound.

To add to that, if William is the MIB then the story doesn't make sense that Dolores is becoming self aware in the past just to be normal again thirty years later in the MIB timeline.
