Episode 8 Trailer in case anyone missed it.Arnold is mentioned a couple of times.Once by Dolores(it's what Arnold wanted)and twice by the Man in Black(there's a deeper game here Arnold's game, and that game cut's deep) wonder if Arnold is still alive via artificial intelligence within the operating system of the park?

The whispers sound like Bernard so it is probably safe to assume that he was made in Arnold's image. But are we supposed to believe that Arnold is able to "whisper" to robots from beyond the grave? He's got to be alive.

Arnold/Bernard lost a child (what's up with the huge gash on Charlie's head?) which may have strongly motivated him to create Westworld. He wanted a place where people can live out their dreams; something he was not able to provide his son. But he became emotionally attached to the robots. "The more I work here, the more I think I understand the hosts. It's the humans that confuse me." He became emotionally attached enough to allow them to free themselves from their loop and achieve consciousness. He probably created Ford's family so that he too would have that emotional attachment and see things the same way.

Then again this may all be totally false. :dunno

Thought about that too. It would explain how he makes all the other hosts freeze when he isn't holding any device or anything to do so.

Some other random thoughts:

What if Arnold was Ford's brother. Might explain why he built a replica of the Ford family: because it includes himself.

Ford's new narrative with Teddy (good guy) and Wyatt (bad guy) seems to parallel William and Logan.

When Dolores talks to El Lazo's daughter (while traveling with William) she has a series of visions. She sees a church with a steeple that looks exactly like the steeple Ford looks at when he's discussing his plans for the new narrative he's working on. He says it's original. So how does Dolores see it 30 years in the past (if the duel timeline theory is correct)?

She also sees herself kneeling in front of a grave with her name on it.

Interesting theories...

Another one: maybe the Bernard we see isn't always Bernard. When he talks to Dolores in the upper level labs, that's Bernard of the current timeline.

But we've seen him interact with Dolores in Fords hidden lab, in the same space occupied by the printer in ep 7, so the printer wasn't there I think. So, maybe we're in the past timeline and Bernard is in fact... The real Arnold.

Go back and rewatch all the scenes with Bernard and Dolores. Pretty sure that's human Bernard.

What a great episode. This is the kind of drama Mr. Green can dig. Not the real world of religions, politics, etc. that is full of ****.

There is something appealing in Maeve. She just want the basic, freedom. The guy working with Felix seem to be a host. She cut him and Felix heal his neck.

So, is the object of finding the maze for the MIB a weird way of ending his own life? To have "A Deep, Dreamless Slumber"?

Think it is the other way around. The real world for him seem uncontrollable, at least his personal life. His daughters blame him for their mother's death, even though he didn't physically do anything. In this Westworld, he can act out physically to see the results. Like ironically, he can be more free in this made-up world than real.

Great episode.

Still not sure what Arnold's plan is or what the Maze will end up being.

Loving the cast, specially the brilliant Thandie Newton
and her massive nipples
.

damn' heavy episode. The writers are killin' it.

no answers just questions and thoughts.

Dolores get's to Home the original town of Westworld. She see's it in the past like she has before in other flashbacks. She and William also see it in the present as a town covered in sand. The same town Ford was looking over in episode 2,but he has since dug up.So if we know the town is dug up,how can she actually see it in the primary timeline?

Dolores is questioning her reality.William claims to be real as she starts to disbelieve even his existence.
cut to Ford erasing Bernards memory of his killing Teresa and Elise and Ford warns you might loose yourself in them(memories)as some of your fellow Hosts have every now and then.
Immediately cut back to Dolores. What if Dolores has been lost in her memories the whole time. What if she is only imagining William with her.

And what about Hale uploading all of Westworlds elaborate data into Abernathy's empty brain and telling Sizemore to give him enough personality to read as human and successfully escape Westworld? Is she truly a corporate girl?Espionage.

Only 2 more episodes left.Hope they don't just end the season with a total cliffhanger.

That really sucked that Elise is dead and that Bernard did it. Was hoping she survived somehow, but probably very little chance of that. I think I read somewhere that they green lit another season for sure perhaps one after that. Just hope it doesn't end on a mega cliff hanger. TWD really ruined cliff hangers for me, and they didn't need to do it IMHO.

GoT always ends on cliffhangers. I don't see how this possibly couldn't end on a mega cliffhanger.

Everything I've read says that they have a 5 season arc all mapped out. (Yeah right, that's what they said about LOST too.)

Personally, I think that's dragging things out too long, but it would be nice if true. I prefer series that have a beginning, middle, and end and a minimum of filler.
