I barely remember the original movie, but I do remember it had a big impact on me.
This could be pretty good.
I just watched it a couple of days ago. Didn't resonate with me much to be honest. They didn't examine why the robots revolted, whether they had agency, or any real implications of what happened. Just a fairly generic suspense movie when all was said and done, albeit with a very bad ass looking cowboy by Yul Brynner. I've never been a huge fan of Richard Benjamin, either. But I can imagine it impacting me if I saw it as a kid, and hadn't seen many other dystopian sci fi movies yet. Though I'm sure the TV show will just take the broadest outline from the movie and apply it in hopefully interesting ways.

Just watched first episode. Production is gorgeous...cast is good. Packed a lot in this first hour. Not for the "casual" viewer...gotta pay attention.

Did it's job...made me want to come back for more.

Noticed "Black Hole Sun" by Soundgarden (in the saloon before Ed Harris appears) and "Paint It Black" by Rolling Stones (during daytime Saloon massacre) were used on the show, they played right before the bad guy(s) made an appearance. I'll have to rewatch it and pay closer attention to see if songs with "black" in the title is a running theme. Just an odd thing I noticed.

I too noticed the orchestral versions of those popular songs. I liked it, I am intrigued to see how it pans out.

It was pretty interesting.
I loved the use of the orchestrated rock songs, and the characters seem to be well written so far. Also the hints at the larger picture beyond the "amusement park". In the final shoot-out scene I got a vibe of Night of the Living Dead (the remake), when the posse is killing and burning zombies in an orgy of violence, it made me uncomfortable how the Newcomer just enjoyed himself so much killing hosts.
I'm sure the show will raise interesting questions about what exactly it means to be human, and what makes us so.

Oh and...

When Dr. Ford (I think) says that Peter literally couldn't hurt a fly, is that a prime directive? 'Cause in the opening scene, Abigail doesn't swat the fly walking around her eyeball, and yet in the closing scene, she kills one walking on her neck...

Saw it, liked it. Didn't love it. Story was interesting mostly. Not a prude, but the amount of nudity seemed a bit overkill and a little distracting. And am I the only one creeped out by the underlying tone of rape in the story or general sexual aggression? The bots aint even safe from the females.

Well, it's a statement about the dark side of human nature. If there are no rules or boundaries, a lot of people are capable of doing some pretty rotten things.
