The amount of Weta dollars you get for this purchase (as a gold member) is way better than what SSC would give for this amount.

Weta triples the amount of SS plus it gets even better...any leftover balance from another purchase using Weta dollars also get 15% weta dollars...SSC doesnt give you any points ...

The Weta Dollars program is great. The best thing is that you get some back even after using them and with their great stuff it's not hard to be a good member.

Ive already made the decision to stop Sideshow, i was blown away with Weta at SDCC plus the 15% in Weta Dollars and having a UK warehouse so no custom fees is a massive saving for me.

The improvement in Wetas statue over the years has made this a pretty easy descision for me

I truly am almost done with SS. Unless they come out with a must have piece I'm done. Sauron is the last preorder I have left with SS. Then I'll figure out what to get with my remaining reward points. I'm a Weta-man now and really always was. I officially have close to 300 Weta Items now

I won't give up on SS until they give me a reason too. Hopefully they'll come back to Middle Earth soon.

If SS were to adopt something like this they'd move a lot more product. Took me forever to get $300 in rewards points. Two purchases from Weta and I'll have $200 (once Azog ships). And that's in about 12 months time I think.

If I could offer Sideshow one thing that would help them as a business it would be to model their rewards program after Weta's. The way Weta does things encourages spending more money with them. Its great to still get some rewards after using some. As I said about Azog I used $85 in WD and $69 from a GC leaving $81 coming back to me. I have other things on order with them and I should be back to around $100 by early next year. Plus with stuff coming out as the year goes I could be near 200 by Comic-Con next year. If they have something large at Comic-Con I might be able to take a big chunk out of it.

One thing about Weta, I recall they do expire and encourage you not to bank them too long but to continue to use them as you earn them - sort of against the way collectors generally go about it.

Josh, just one thing you'd suggest to SS ;)

Honestly, looking at the last 2 years and it isn't even close in terms of line management. I can't really imagine Weta doing anything differently than they have.

Do they? I thought they changed that a while back and now they last until spent.

It's one of a few things I have, had, or would suggest. :lol

i think as long as your status as gold member stays active you can keep the points.

I couldn't save them for two years if I tried. :lol

And that of course would be 2 years from when each lot is earned, so really, spend a bit, earn a bit on a constant rotation, with all the cool stuff coming and really, none will hit the 2 year limit. So not really an issue.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. That's been what I do anyways. I've made statues like Kili the price of the old SSW line a few times already.

With weta dollars it doesn't matter. Spend them anytime because the balance of what is left on the item you buy still collects weta dollars, so there is no need to save em. Sideshow on the other hand I try to save em so that I can buy an item close to where I get it for free. For ex if I use say $150 on a $900 Sauron sure I saved but now that's $700 balance that won't accrue points. Weta no matter what or how little you spend you accrue Weta dollars. No need to save em unless you don't shop at all really .
