I don't know, the photo of the smashed one doesn't look like the same statue

The smashed up one is Smaug, from the initial batch that was shipped to US customers, before the 'wood' base started peeling and all remaining shipments were stopped.

That aside, both are made the same and are polystone.

Did you get this one yet? I have to agree with Adolfo, it doesn't feel like any version of stone.

No, I'm not getting the Eowyn one, just Smaug. And in either case, they aren't shipping from NZ yet.

The website says:

This statue is cast in polystone resin, a material that allows intricate detail. It's the same material we cast most of our collectible statues and busts.

So I guess short of taking a hammer to Eowyn as well

Don't need to break it to know it's NOT made of polystone. It is weird is that they made such a big deal of the base not being wooden that the bigger issue is what the sculpture is made of.

Smaug and Eowyn/Nazgul pics...The base makes a difference I feel...I'm more partial towards the wood and am very glad my Smaug base was not defective...hopefully down the line it will stay that way too..

I was supposed to get a bronze but have felt absolutely no rush to buy one of these, not sure how many they have sold. When they raised the price that about did it for me. I will still pick one up eventually but why rush into it. I continue to consider emailing them and just asking for a discount since I bought the Smaug bronze already. I think I paid 4400 for that piece and that had no customs or shipping charges I think.
