As in my original post the edition size is expected to be 500. Following the official price announcement Weta are offering you the chance to join the VIP customers newsletter, where when entering you highlight which Raygun model your interested in. I guess this will be used to gauge overall interest and help finilise edition sizes.

At that price the edition size better be in the single digits. Only Peter Jackson can afford the whole set...

Forgot to mention this part that was in the email also. What do you guys make of this? sounds like a 2007 SDCC exclusive coming...

Here is the info from the email for those that haven't gotten it yet:
"We can reveal that the guns will be limited edition pieces. We will be making only 500 of each gun worldwide, all of which will be handcrafted and made out of metal with some glass parts. Not only that, but every Raygun comes with its own velvet lined pressed tin case, Certificate of Authenticity and an assortment of implements and crafting tools. And … these bad boys will be a decent punch of metal - weighing in at over 7 pounds each these are no light investment."
