Re: Phantasm commission thread

No pics forthcoming from me. Mine was shipped off just as soon as it arrived...

But when it comes back, there will be pics. Oh, there will be glorious pics!

Re: Phantasm commission thread

I finally got around to finishing my Tall Man with the smaller details like his tie pin and photoshopping some backgrounds onto them.

Then here's a few older photos for fun:

Re: Phantasm commission thread

Still trying to figure out what to do for a body and suit. I was going to go with a normal sized body because it would be cheaper and easier to find a suit, but then I decided I want to make a Reggie to go with him.

What to do... what to do...

Your's is looking good, WST!

I'm all for doing other characters, and still intend to, with a young Michael and Jody somewhere on my Ada to do list, and it would be dumb to do them and not Reggie.

For your prob, you can always have the TM standing on something in the background to make him LOOK taller?

OT- I'm planning on going to the Chicago Flashback Weekend next weekend where they are having a full-on PHANTASM cast reunion!!!!! Woo hoo! :chew:chew:chew

Holy shat! That looks so awesome! :horror :drool

If I can get my vehicle working reliably, I might make the drive down... (from Milwaukee).

Here's hoping for news of a Phantasm V. They seriously need to wrap up the story...

And yeah, I thought about propping the TM up on something, but I'd like to put him right next to Reggie looking down on him...

Re: Phantasm commission thread

That flash back weekend seems awesome! I was gonna go to a convention with James Marsters and the Angus was gonna be there also. I'd love to meet that guy, he seems cool as hell. And yeah WST, your right, you can't leave out Reggie lol

That sucks that I didn't join the Tall Man comission! I woulda loved to have one of these bad boys. I was looking at the Neca one but Ada's is sooooo much nicer. I'll prob look into getting it thought cause I missed Ada's.

Re: Phantasm commission thread

Send a message to Ada, she might still have some, or be able to cast you one.

Yeah, I'm going to look into that. Thanks bro.

"You play a good game boy,but the game is finished! Now you die!" I love that line lol

Morbach: thanks for the offer to help with other Phantasm characters. They will be spread out when we do them so no worries about doing 3 characters at once. Can't wait to see your Phantasm dio when it's done!!!

Flashback Weekend just rocked. I am such a big Phantasm fan it was a once in a lifetime experience. When meeting Don Coscarelli he told me a P5 is VERY unlikely to ever happen now. I told him we NEEDED a finale to the series. I don't care if it's a comic series, audio play, or whatever, as long as it's by him.
He seemed at least interested in the idea of the audio play, recalling the NPR Star Wars ones from a few decades ago.

He also was very interested in hearing what Phans actually wanted to have happen if the series concluded. Write him at Phantasm.com and tell him!

Here's a few pics I thought I'd share. I'm not technically skilled enough to fix a few of them. Sorry!

Re: Phantasm commission thread

Awesome! I'd totally buy an audio play of Phantasm 5! :rock :rock :rock

A comic would be cool, but I need to hear Angus' "Boooooooy!!!" on more time... :rock

I wonder how Don would feel about receiving an unsolicited script for said audio play... :monkey3 :angelsmil

Re: Phantasm commission thread

Dude, that's awesome!! You're so lucky! Unfortunatley, I probably won't get to meet anyone at conventions any time soon,Unless it's a band member 'cause I'm gonna be going to CRUEFEST and to see Disturbed. Should be a fun summer.

So were Angus and Don as cool? I saw som convention footage on the special ed dvd and Angus seemed like he was the coolest guy.

Re: Phantasm commission thread

Angus was a very sweet guy. Look at that photo of him. I just crack up every time I see it. He walked around in white plastic rock star glasses. Very funny.

Don totally wanted to mine people's opinions as to how we wanted the series to end and what we did and didn't want to see.

In a nutshell, I said, give us some explanations, not everything, but something! Michael to be the main character again like in the first movie, but to be strong and not a victim, (to me the series was his story). I said I prefered the Tall Man being more of an alien than a generic body with a sphere in his head.

He asked did I want the Tall man to actually be defeated?
I said yes and no. Mike and Reggie have learned a bit more every movie on how to hurt him. The Tall Man could be defeated, but if he's an alien, he's part of an alien race who've conquered other worlds and dimensions, so theres still a threat out there.

Then I asked him a big question I've had: In P4 how could Jody tell Reggie to use the tuning fork like he did "before" (and they flashed back to movie 1 where Reggie is in the barrel room of the mansion and puts his hands on the top of the gateway), when none of that in movie one actually happened to refer back to? It was all Michaels dream. Don was funny. He had a great sense of humor about it and seemed embarassed, and admited "if" he made mistakes that might have been a mistake, :)

Honestly, the coolest guy there to me ended up being Bill Thornberry (Jody).
He's a music teacher now and he's just a real people person. Very comfortable just B.S.ing. We talked forever. He said he was thinking of doing an album with the Phantasm cast (Mike and Reggie) where they would all get a few songs of their own. I thought that would rock. I said they should do a cover with Angus of AC/DC's Big Balls. "I've got the biggest balls of them all!" ;)

Re: Phantasm commission thread

Dude, that's awesome that it was personal like that and you got to converse with them all. Usually it's soo busy at things like that that people only get to say a few words. That truly is a once in a lifetime opportuntiy, congrats on being able to go to such a kickass event. You're so luck! I'm envious!

I have to go to something like that. I might be going to see Jared and Jensen at the Eyecon later this year if everything goes accordingly.

Re: Phantasm commission thread

okay, been outta the loop for awhile. what suit did you guys end up using for Tall Man? i was thinking maybe the DCD Two Face 13"? tall, might could even use the bod, but it's 2 shades. might could dye black tho. so what suits u use?

I had mine custom made for the 14" Kanamit body.

:saruman *Spell of Resurrection*

Old thread, but any anyone else in this thread finish their Tall Man figure other than Mr. Shatner? I see the sculpt is being sold on Ada's site. Would like to get a custom started, but have no idea where to get a suit for the 14" body and 12" body just won't work for this character. :( I'm wondering if a 12" suit could work by having someone sew extensions onto the ends of the sleeves and pants rather than having an entire custom suit made. :dunno

Re: Phantasm commission thread

Mine was lost in the great DarkArtist debacle. :monkey2

It's been so long, I honestly forgot where I put all the other pieces I was going to use to complete the figure.

Re: Phantasm commission thread

You think when threads die they go to heaven? THEY COME TO US!

Suit commissions, I'm told, are pretty basic and simple to do. Try someone like Amy Jones and get put on a wait list till she's freed up if you can.

Just send her a figure body for size ref when the time comes. I bet it will cost less than $35. :)

I've actually been PMed by a few people out of the blue last week asking about my possibly making any more heads from Phantasm. (I bet it's cause this thread got bumped back up!-laugh.)

I'm in a studio so it's a little easier (laugh). It's been awhile but I'd like a P1 Michael, Jody, and Reggie eventually. The thing is, despite being my favorite horror movie of all time, I have nightmares of only getting enough interest from like three other people or something and then these would never be able to happen.

My studio won't have time till the beginning of 2011 for new projects, but feel free to keep this thread a live and give shout outs as to who you'd want to see in the way from Phantasm custom heads. :)
