i couldn't even finish TCM the beginning - i thought it was ridiculous.

it went so far from the original vision of the story which focussed less on gore, and more on what your imagination can conjure up (which is FAR scarier)

but i did enjoy the remake.

just my opinion.

I love em both!! The remake is indeed my FAV! but the beginnig just brought out the funny on Hoyt!!! man that dude is funny in both movies!!

mm, way much better than the original. I don't care if people say that it's a "classic" or a "cult" film.. it's boring and it sucks! :monkey1

I enjoyed the original, it a classic and a cult film.

Seriously though, I liked the original but I remember the first time I saw it and I was surprised when it ended. It was one helluva short movie. :lol

Also, imagine my surprise when watching TCM 2 having no idea what the movie was about. Boy was that one different. :rotfl

Seriously.....I have it in my DVD collection.....Dennis Hopper is one crazy double chainsaw weilding fruitcake. Plus the family is funny and crazy as hell. The only thing that bothered me was the non stop screaming of the DJ woman. I hate horror films where all the female character does is scream.......and scream.......and runs a little bit..then falls down......and then screams some more. :monkey4

The LA Times said TCM 2 was "even wilder, gorier and funnier than the original" and I have to agree! :rock

I didn't say I didn't like it, just imagine seeing it after seeing the first and not knowing anything about it. I can still hear Bill Moseley(I think it was Bill Moseley) saying "Leatherface." The way he would say it cracked me up. :lol

Bill Moseley is great!! I love it when he picks the skin from his scalp and eats it! :lol

Though I have to say he was even better in The Devil's Rejects! That film kicks ass!!!! :rock
