Waiting on the HT Golden Age Cap preorder and the Super 7 Alien figures. Maybe the Terminator 1 PF if I can get it at a deep discount.

That's it unless Sideshow puts up preorders for an Alien LSB, Pinhead PF and anything Indy.

Ahh yes! I too await the release of the Super 7 Allen figures!

Other than that i'm keeping it low profile and sticking to Lego. Depending what the price point is for the Chewbacca PF then I might be tempted to finally add something nice to the Chewie collection.

Very good post. I really agree with the Avengers thing. So much so that I've sold off all of my Hot Toys and now only have CR superman and Keaton Batman. It's very easy like you say to get swept up with all the cool stuff without actually stopping to think if it means anything to you. I did.

I think though it's an age thing. The current crop of 12 year olds probably really identify with the Avengers like we did with Batman and Superman.

Only difference is we never had the option to buy kick *** figures back in the day so the long wait definitely adds to the excitement of seeing something you loved realized many years later.

I am over the hill but love the Avengers and IM, it's not just for little kids (its also for big kids ) I also love the older figures from my younger years like my CR Superman (only Superman i will own, sorry Man of Steel), Terminators and my slowly growing 89/91 Batman Collection (Batman, Batmobile, Joker, Penguin and maybe Catwoman, I'm not going to get a returns Batman, one is enough).

Not counting the Avengers, I am mostly collecting from older movies and think it's great that HT is doing these classic figures and vehicles that are still popular after all the years.

I do agree with what you and batfan08 said, I have limited room for these so I'm trying hard to stay very focused with my collecting. I want figures that I will still enjoy 5 or 10 years from now as much as i do today. I also want a nice clean looking collection, not a curio stuffed full of figures that looks like a cluttered mess.

I doubt I will get much this year besides the few things i already have on PO. I might pick something up from IM 3 and maybe the BTTF line (if that comes up for order this year), nothing else has interested me enough to drop $200+ on a figure. I might even slightly reduce the size of my collection.

The trailers certainly look good and if the movie is as good, that'll be great, but CR is and will always be Superman.

5. A really good looking Iron Man Maquette from the avengers or a good Extremis comic version.

8. Wolverine PF (another unlikely, as the LSF wolvi is shipping this year..)


My plans for 2013 and further, is to complete my 6 favourites characters from Marvel. Hulk, Spidey, Wolverine, Iron Man, Thor and Cap. Already have 1/6

I've lost interest in a lot of the new stuff coming and planned from HT. So for the most part I plan to continue focusing on SW and vintage pieces with the occasional pick-up like the BD T-800.

In general the influx of new is much slower than it was a few years back when I was less focused.

I'm going to get War Machine (should arrive in the mail this week) and Loki. If my waitlist on Hawkeyes converts then I'll get him and Black Widow. Unless something else amazing like a great Sideshow Destro comes out I think I'll be done for the year by spring time.

^ This post looks....familiar. Almost as familiar as this post... Nova, you need more Spider-Man on the list though.

All I care about is more Spider-Man and more Buffy. I'd like to see a revival of the Buffy line, but it's not looking like it'll happen. And as for Spider-Man, I'd like see more comiquettes. I'm hoping for the 2099 suit or, if a movie license was acquired, the ASM suit.

My plans for 2013? Well, the first thing i did at the end of last year was to go through my entire collection and ship out those pieces which for one reason or another were not need anymore (ie. pieces which were purchased as impulse buys and no longer wished to keep or just didnt fit in with my overall theme of my collection). Reason for thinning out my collection? Well basically to pay off all my pre orders for this year mainly and then also to make more space. I just couldnt believe how many pieces i sold in the end...i think it was over 15 statues/busts in total (and i'm still left with over 20 pieces!) but the great news is that i managed to raise all the funds needed to cover my pre-orders which are:
