My current job I got through a friend and they didn't even look at my resume.

i dropped out of school when i was 16 or 17. cant quite remember. my parents got so pissed they kicked me out of the house and we havent talked in over 13 years. needless to say those were the best 13 years of my life.:duff i also make about 50K in a small rural town where the average income is about 20K. not bad for not having a HS diploma. educasion is ovaraided in mi opining.

I have two Certifications from the American Society for Quality (ASQ); Quality Inspector (CQI) & Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA).

I'm currently working on getting my AAS degree as a Paraeducator.

Are you going to be a teacher's aide or are you going to specialize in something?

I have no degrees. Waste of time in my small town. Few jobs that require one, unless you're a teacher, nurse or doctor.

Or join the military, they pay for everything. Plus you get the benefits. But the military is not for everyone. But the best decision I made.

My eldest brother was in the navy for 20 years and it didn't help him at all getting a job when he got out and he took all kinds of schooling. He's working in a japanese-owned factory for $14 an hour.

I've got a diploma in Audio Engineering.

When I was young, I was a master on the linoleum.

I also have a masters in being a ****** pickle. :lecture

I see you are using my combination from the other night nicely. :lol

I look at having a degree as taking the easy way out in life. I mean there are jobs that are much harder on you than most jobs you can get with a degree. There are also jobs that I seriously would not want to do every day like being a garbage man which I consider a hard job.

Bachelor of Fine Art (Visual Arts), Honours.

Do I use that? Not directly, that's for sure... but I think it helps me to "think outside the box" among my colleagues! ;)

Working on finishing my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

Also known as 3D Animation. Definitely not trying for honors. In my field they don't care much about a degree. They'll look at your demo reel before they look at anything else, they just put a degree as a requirement on the job listing.

I hope to be working in video games after I graduate (two semesters left). As opposed to visual effects in film. The video game industry is doing very well, and you can get in much more easily. And it still pays pretty well.

It's kinda sad though, I started working with this stuff 4 years before I started going to college, but everyone else in my major are just taking the classes. They are going to have a really hard time getting a job when they graduate.

B.S. Professional Aviation from UND (top 3 aviation school in the nation)

*toots bodie's horn*

Same for film production - I wished I'd just spent the money I paid for college just making short films and writing scripts. Would have done a lot more for a film career than a bunch of schooling.

Wow! That's what I looked into doing when I got out of high school.

Master of the linoleum? So, do you slide better with or without socks?

B.S. in Telecommunications and Sociology

My goal at the time was to get into directing music videos, Telecommunications was the closet thing my school offered to a film degree. I have done nothing with either of my degrees.

I went back to school a few years ago and actually have enough credits to have a minor in mathematics.....but again, what would I do with that. :lol :dunno
