Yes, I have been teaching at the same school for the last four and a half years. Taught a couple years before that while in graduate school. I really enjoy that I get to teach, direct and do a little graphic design.

To be a teacher........lol. Even $36,000 is too much to borrow.
I worked my ass off at a grocery store during school 35-40 hours a week and it took me 6 years (kept changing my major didn't help) but I never took a single loan out. I even had enough at the end of it to pay cash for a car when I graduated.
I suppose student teaching would prevent one from working. Thats one big reason I never became a teacher, I wasn't willing to work for free.

Knowing I'd be a teacher I went the state school route. I racked up about $36,000 in student loans while a teacher who teaches in the same school for the same pay but went to the private St. Mary's College about 30 minutes from my campus owes $180,000
He must be 5 times the teacher you are.
