What did you give up for this?

Yeah, I too used to have many different avenues that I pursued in collecting before SSC. And all have since ceased. I used to collect the MR mini sabers as well as the FX line... (which I only had AOTC Anakin), I had a bunch of hasbro SW stuff, Unleashed and regular figures.

How I found SS was actually pretty funny. I went to Celebration 3 with an old Navy buddy and was dragging him around to all of the booths in the main hall. I then saw the prototypes for Grievous and Han.... Instantly I was blown away by the quality and wanted any and all info on the company. I took a catalogue(8) and a DVD, and went along in my merry crusade of memorabilia.

When on the plane to get back home, I flipped through the SSC book and was drawn immediately to one specific figure. Jason VII. I scoured EBay until I found one and bought him immediately. I then sold a ton of my stuff and started to fill out the collection. I finished most of my horror collection and started with Bond. Once I had that where I wanted, I began pre-ordering directly from SSC.

Since that moment, a lot of my stuff went to Ebay... Now I collect almost exclusively with Sideshow and am not at all in doubt that I am probably insane.... :google

Used to be a huge, and I mean huge reptile fanatic...........sold off everything to start this hobby............before I found SSC, I thought collectibles were great, but I didn't realize the magnitude of the hobby until I jumped in with both feet.................

I sold off my DML figure collection, marvel legends, SW 3 3/4". Now The Johnny Lightning cars from Playing Mantis will be next, my Chuck Jones animation cell of Bugs Bunny and Merlin, and any other misc. non Sideshow stuff I turn up. I even cancelled preorders of non Sideshow stuff that Sideshow was selling.

As an update to my previous post in this thread I've now made the decision to sell my Kubrick collection to help raise the cash for my first SW Premium Format figure so I'll be almost exclusively a Sideshow collector from now on. All in all,Sideshow have made quite an impact on my collecting preferences in the last few months.
