Energy drink and vodka can be bad... I end up going to sleep then waking up an hour later, wide awake and feeling like crap. They're great for nights in Tahoe or Vegas though. :rock

I gave up on 90% of low end stuff to focus on 1/6 and a few statues.

Best decsion I ever made:yess:

i am slowly re-aligning my anti-hero campaign theme...
but i am a sucker for masked commandos like *snake eyes and *beachhead.

so :gah:

:lol Yeah, I've been on lock down since my son was born so no real stories like that in the last two years. Probably a good thing...

Like some here I started off buying anything that was cool and cheap. Sideshows modern horror, T2 and HT's Rambo/Rocky. After a while the collection clustered and newer things were coming out, with better quality.

So i'd sell a few to buy a few, then that got boring. Then HT's raised the bar and started on licenses that actually catered to my liking. Then that got boring so I sold probably 1/3 of my stuff to focus on T1/T2 product.

Thats where i'm at now ............ its been a while since i've sold anything. Unless I just need the cash. Couldn't be more happy.

Struggling. A lot of struggling.

I haven't been able to quit the Hasbro Star Wars line - I still feel like I want those little ___kers, I've only been collecting them since 1995 so it'd seem a shame to let them drop now. But mostly OT only for me now. So thats not much these days since OT stuff is fewer and further between what with all the Clone Wars/PT offshoot crap.

Beyond that the only non-Terminator or Predator thing I'm buying at the moment is the HT Platoon line. The rest is..well Terminator and Predator. Its all adding up though, I owe a small fortune on toys. And I'm tempted by things like HT Spiderman and the yet to be seen HT CR Superman and Keaton Batman line.

I gave up almost all the licenses I used to collect even a year ago. I only buy select Marvel, Star Wars OT and select DC Direct. I break for a cool figure figure here and there but my spending has been paired down quite a bit. I'm going for quality over quantity.

I've given up almost everything since deciding to be a focus collector on the Millennium Falcon. The best collecting decision i ever made. There's still a lot of other stuff i want though.

:) :) :)

Let's see....I gave up (in this order):

My entire collection of Star Wars 3 3/4 action figures, all mint on card sealed and I mean I had every single figure released from 1995 to 2006.

Then came my entire Master Replicas Star Wars lightsabers.

Finally moved on to Hot Toys and gave up the entire Iron Man and Batman lines.....I guess I should be kicking myself for this one!

I try to just stick to Buffy. But I do buy what I like. Not everything. I have to make sacrifices. But I don't really buy Marvel or anything comic BUT She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Red Skull are in my collection because I love the way they were done. So it depends.

I sold most of my DC statue collection.

I Sold most of my Transformers collection.

I sold most of my Gentle Giant Star Wars Mini Bust collection (i still have some few and selling it little by little)

I sold all my 3 inch Star Wars figures (still have some 1/6 & 7" inch in the storage)

I sold my Hot toys Iron Man 1/6 figures to get money for Iron Man VI and War Machine Maquette.

I sold my Neca He-man statue collection.

I pretty much gave up on HT to concentrate on PFs, maquettes and statues that are movie related. I'll still buy the odd HT, but very very few. I only used to collect HT and what got me started in the other stuff was the HT prices. I always wanted Indy in my collection and when I saw $250, I went for the PF instead which wasn't that much more $$$ wise. Now my PFs and statues make my HT look too "toyish" (size, joints, etc). I know they're toys but....

I stick with 1/6 ANH SW, Indy and Comic Book movies.... that being said I have ROTJ, ESB, Terminator, Predator, GI Joe and LOTR figures (and others) that don't fall within those limitations.

You're a mess. :wave
*cough* JACK SPARROW *cough*

Personally, I've been going over this a lot lately.

I sold all my comics, POTF collection (ahem, Kenobi for $1200!), and my G.I. Joe collection a couple years ago. I knew I wanted to jump into high end collectibles and started with a DX Joker and have made several purchases that range from PF's to Hot Wheels Batmobile's.

I have limited collection funds (like most of us) and I'm reassessing what I want to TRULY collect and not just buy everything that seems cool. Been selling off some of the items I can live without so I have the funds for the HT's figures I want in the future...they are getting EXPENSIVE! :slap

That said, I've been passing on MOTUC (just wanted a He-Man and Battle Cat), G.I. Joe and SW Vintage 3 3/4 (but damn General Lando is the man!) any SS OT SW's (instant purchases would be Boba Fett and a Snow Trooper though!), and some HT's figures.

I gave up on collecting Star Wars Prequels and focused my collection on Original Trilogy Imperials. On Terminator I only collect Endos. On anime I mostly collect Shirow Masamune stuff.

Lucky you still have your SW items, I sold all of my figures, MR sabers and autographed photos :(, but Ghost in the Shell Bro!!! :hi5:

Ive just sold off ALL of my Star Wars 3 3/4" figures. Sold off ALL my Marvel Legends Except 1 (Face Off Incredible Hulk).

Ive stopped collecting any and all 7" figures.

Im focusing solely on select HOT TOYS, MOTUC, and DCUC.

The DCUC, Im only getting those that appeared in the Super Powers line, so thats almost done for me. MOTUC are only ones that I had as a child, which was almost all of them (but no POP though).

HT are only select few that I love the characters of. And I have a few other 1:6 but not many. Mostly SS.

EDIT: Im keeping all my vintage toys though. :)
