What do you think about SIDESHOW hiding the Edition Size until the release ??

Once most of Figures were sold out before the release,
now they just sit in the SSC warehouse... for years....

Retarded motive for collecting. Fops have ruined this market.

I would prefer to know the edition size at the time of pre-ordering. I think it's only fair to the collector. Especially with items being such high cost. And these being 'collectibles' not toys at a toy store.

Our first world problems suck

I collect for me. I never collect for resale. But I still like to know that what I am collecting is rare. Especially when it's high priced.

My train of thinking too except that instead of me prefering that something is rare it's enough that its exclusive or niche to the collecting market which is relatively small and specialist.

If these were all sold in tons of stores all over in shopping centers and high streets it'd lose that special appeal.

Lately I've noticed the move by sideshow to not even show the edition size. For all we know they just sell as many as they can before retiring a figure. If this is true, they are in serious danger of losing their collectible status.

Well, they still show ES on Premium formats and other statues, but on Sixth Scale figures they stopped doing it. I feel sixth scale collecting as become more popular in the last two years, and sideshow is a major player in the 1/6 market so it probably makes sense for them to do Open editions for non-exclusive items.
