Hate how some people are so convinced their opinions are right. :monkey4

The film was great and warrants figures more so than Prince Of Persia, Clash of The Titans, Abigail Whistler and the constant stream of Iron man stuff. HT would be stupid not to pursue it.

I must admit though it did occur to me today that we haven't seen much since the announcement, I certianly hope they've not shelved the figure(s)

Considering they mentioned Bruce Lee briefly years ago and he just came out, I wouldn't worry. Even if the movie sucked (haven't seen it yet - I know), the stars are all icons in their own right and are pretty much 1:6 gold.

I am surprised almost none of the near 400 comments on their FB page mentions Dolph Lundgren,he along with Sly and Statham are my most wanted 3,even if i want the whole crew i know it's unlikely and can live with the 3 i just mentioned. How can you NOT love Lundgren in a movie with Sly?
Jet Li was imo just a tool used in the movie,we didn't get to know the character at all,"I have a family,i want a raise,i have a family i want a raise,i am not small,i don't have a family" was all we heard him say and his fists did the talking the rest of the movie,it was like he didn't matter.

Yeah his part was pretty small. Maybe he should have gone on that mission with Sly and Statham to get a little more screen time? It was all about those 2 really, wasn't it! The rest of the team took a back seat which is a shame considering the hype around the cast members.

I definitely want Sly and Statham, I hope they do those two. They are bought already! If they do Li i'll get him probably!

Actually,Jet Li is my lowest priority from the Expendables,Austin,Couture and Crews before Li,i don't know...he just didn't give me anything when i watched the movie, didn't fit in with the crew either imo.

For the token Asian guy, they should have pressed hard for Donnie Yen. Bigger action star than Jet Li in China right now and IP Man is already one of the greatest martial arts movie ever. He would have fit right in. Here's Yen one-upping Statham's take on 5 basketball players. How about 10 black belts? And unlike Jet Li, Donnie speaks English. I think one of the reasons Statham rode shot-gun was because Li couldn't speak English.

What makes you say that?Statham got the part because Kurt Russel turned it down,i am no fan of Van damme but with the cast in this movie he would fit right in instead of Jet Li.
I don't remember seeing Jet Li on pics from SDCC,clips of the cast from tv shows,The Premiere of the movie etc etc, makes we wonder if something happened between Sly and Li :dunno

^^Man i'm not too familiar with Donnie Yen's work but that was SICK. Brutal fight choreography totally different from the likes of Chan's approach.
Stallone was just looking for action star 'names' and Jet Li's is more familiar in the west.
Expendables was just mindless popcorn stuff and a bit of a wild ride. Now i'm a child of the 80's and grew up with action movies however, as fun as the film was, i'm really not arsed about figures from it. Yeah the actors (Less Statham) are icons but the characters they plaid ain't. I'd rather have representations of these guys in the respective iconic films and not as they were in Expendables, haggered and wrinkly...Saying that, i'll take a figure of Randy 'the natural' Couture any day. The man's a ____in' LEGEND

That's an absurd reason. Jackie Chan has mainstreamed Hollywood, is bigger than Yen will ever be and his English isn't much better. Look at Schwarzenegger, a bigger star than even Sly, let alone governor of California and half the time it's like, "WTF did he just say?!" I don't think any "language barrier" had anything at all to do with it.

Surely Statham was in the film regardless of Kurt Russell!

Where did you hear that Rock83 buddy?

Im sure he would be,but Russel was supposed to have the role Statham got,can you see Russel having the role Crews,Couture or Li had?Not a chance,i guess we would have seen another Tango and Cash like movie with alot of Jokes,i bet the script would have been alot different too.

I hope the guys who didn't make the cut in this movie could come back in the second. I would love to see Seagal, Van Damme, Kurt Russell , Wesley Snipes, they could even cast Donnie Yen or Jackie Chan for the "asian" guy, or maybe cameos or something.

Oh and if they cast Chuck Norris, he'll win all, regardless. There's an old saying that goes like "How much wood can a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck norris ?...All of it"

I don't think it's absurd at all. Jackie Chan could take the shot-gun role with Stallone and pull it off. His English is better than Jet Li's, and his charisma on-screen also helps JC overcome his English shortcomings. Jet Li is bland with a high pitch nasally voice. He's a super internationally star with superior martial arts skills to Statham. IMO, he took the back-seat because of his English. I think Li himself rather not say much and gladly takes the back-seat. Whereas Jackie Chan, even though he seems loving and funny, has a pretty big ego, but would have pulled it off. I'm pretty sure who gets the shot-gun role was a big issue during casting. Probably part of the reason why some like Van Damme turned down the movie. Anyway, not even sure why I brought that up. I guess I'm just a Yen fan. Not sure why he hasn't crossed over on a bigger stage, instead of just minor roles. I've read that he doesn't want to either. But he'd be great for the sequel.

Jackie Chan wasn't in The Expendables and won't be in any sequels because that's not his type of movie. The material is too violent and would force him to use a gun. Jackie's movie's are lighter fare and operate in accordance to his 'nice guy' image.

Jet Li was a more logical choice for this film in practically every way. Also, knock on this voice and his character in the film all you want, but I don't know where you got the idea that he doesn't speak english. He's actually very well-versed in the language. It's just that his accent is very thick. Google "Jet li interview' and you'd get many results proving just that.

I do think Donnie Yen would have been a great alternative to Li, but Yen isn't as well known.

Damn you choose the actors i wanted to list that needed to be in it. I think they would have fit better then staham, lee, corture, and crews. even tho i like them as actors. It should have been all the old school!!!

Van Damme turned down the role telling Stallone he prefers roles with more depth of character, even offending Sly by telling him he should play a priest. Though, has failed to explain why he returned for yet another Universal Soldier sequel. :monkey1

That's why it's hard for him to act in American films, you could see he's focused on the pronunciation of words. He's much more natural in his native films. Whereas Jackie, even with his accent, just seems very natural. From his interaction with Chris Tucker to his dramatic moments in Karate Kid, JC is a pretty good actor.
