Thinking of switching out the lights in my room, but I want to make sure I don't get things that could hurt my collection. I have figures all throughout my room so they would definitely be directly exposed by inside room lighting.

You definitely want high strength heat lamps pointed directly at and no more than a foot away from the collectibles.

Keeping everything super hot helps to really bake the paint in and keep everything supple.

Oh okay sweet. I always thought these sorts of lighting scenarios were the ones to avoid, but shows how little I know :slap

I heard CFLs are pretty bad as well for lighting up figures. They produce to much UV, which can lead to fading in the paints.

Any truth to that?

I've always been really nervous about lighting in general. I fear sunlight so much I'm practically a vampire. I have room-darkening blinds, although sometimes I hate how dim my room is all the time. I'm just afraid of damaging everything from my furniture to my figures. I'm picking up the figure-collecting hobby again, so I'll keep my eye on this thread.
