I first got into Marvel when I was a kid around the time of Marvel's Secret War series (1984) thanks to a distant cousin of mine having a bunch of Marvel comics. My favorite character at the time was Wolverine. He was cool because he had blades coming out of his hands and his hair was shaped like his mask. :lol

I stopped buying comics during the Inferno crossover in 1989 but I got back into comics in 1993, and back into Marvel again during Kevin Smith's run on the Marvel Knights Daredevil book. But Thor became my favorite character when I started reading Dan Jurgens' run on the book. I had never read any Thor books when I was a kid and I thought it was really cool that this character would fight the same villains as any other Marvel hero on Earth, but then he also has his own cast of villains and allies on Asgard.

Was a Michigan Wolverines fan as a little kid and then discovered Wolverine the character a short time later in the very early 80's. Got hooked then.

The 90s X-men cartoon started my interest. I'm not sure who my favourite character is. I've never been as heavy into Marvel as I am DC. Maybe Charles Xavier. I think Patrick Stewart increased my love of the character.

90s X-Men, Fantastic Four and Spider-Man cartoons started my interest.

Favourite character is Spider-Man followed by Nova (the REAL Nova, not the new kid)

Well, the tragic story of a boy being orphaned at a young age and even having to see his parents being murdered in an alley after watching some ****ty movie causing him to turn into a crime-fighting, masked vigilante got me involved.

It was definitely the old cartoons that were being aired on Saturday mornings. I remember tuning in to a German TV-channel to watch those.

They had the old "The Marvel Super Heroes" show.

I think they aired a couple of them in a row. I also watched Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, The Incredible Hulk and Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends. (Great theme tune btw)

Later, in the 90's I'd watch the newer Spider-Man cartoon, X-men, Hulk, Fantastic Four, Iron Man and one of my favourites, The Silver Surfer.

So that's what started it all!! :rock :rock :rock

I saw the X-Men on Spierman and His Amazing Friends, and then started reading my older, only-child cousin's comics starting around 1980. His favorite character was Wolverine so I wasn't allowed to have him as my favorite. I tried out every character in the stories, and came to the decision that as awesome as Phoenix, Cyclops, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, and Shadowcat were, Wolverine was the best, and to hell with my cousin.

That brought a smile to my face :)

X-Men, back when the first movie came out. I'd watched the '90s cartoon, but it wasn't until the movie that I became more of a fan.

I'm honestly not into a lot of the comics, though - *ducks rotten tomatoes* -I like self-contained stories more than the ongoing soap opera like world of the continuing comics.

Magneto and Rogue are my two favorite X-Men characters.

I would have to say the 1967 spider-man tv series would be my first interest into the marvel universe, and of course my favorite character is spider-man but daredevil comes second.

Yeah, I used to watch all those Marvel cartoons as a kid along with reruns of the Adam West Batman show. I started reading and collecting comics at a very early age in the mid 70's. Marvel Team-Up, Iron Fist, Avengers, and the X-MEN were my favorite books at the time. I was a HUGE John Byrne and George Perez fan. Their work just blew me away at the time. I got hooked on Wolverine from the start on those X-MEN issues and still like him the most out of all the Marvel characters. Cap is a close 2nd for me.

90's Spiderman cartoon on Fox, which lead to Spider-Man comicbooks.

Then it was downhill from there.

Ironically, I hate what Marvel has done with Spidey right now. So I'm not reading any spider-man books
