The first one that came to mind was Star Trek:TNG. X-Files was a good example of how NOT to end a show. At the time, the end of Quantum Leap really bugged me.

I have my fingers crossed that Lost won't drop the ball when it ends next year. I think that since they are already planning for it that knowing where they're going will help avoid an epic failure to a great show.

I wouldn't be worried about Lost. From what I understand they have had an overall series arc planned since day one.

Yeah the finale was great. I just wish that the rest of the season wasn't so dang fast paced. :google

The Wonder Years. Still makes me teary-eyed when I watch it again.

:monkey2...............

I so wish this show was available on DVD.

It would really suck if the Wonder Years was ever officially available because there is no way Universal (or whoever owns the show now) could secure the rights to all the music they used. It just wouldn't be the same. :(

This is a different one, but the Finale of American Idol Season 5 was one of the best 2 hours of television of the 00s I can remember. Honestly a perfect 2 hours of old time variety entertainment. The bits with Kelly Pickler eating at Wolfgang Puck's were so funny.

I never really liked the Wonder Years (though I seemed to watch it a lot) for some reason. I think it always left me depressed or frustrated. Paul just annoyed the hell out of me, things never seemed to go right for Fred Savage's character, older jerk brother, too much like my own life, :lol

I like the show Brooklyn Bridge a lot more.

It ended with Black Adder and company getting word that they were going to be pushed to the front. Blackie tried all sorts of things to get out of it but in the end he coudn't escape his fate. It ends with everyone dying (but the prat general who sent Capt. Darling to the front to join in the fun he new he was missing out on working in the Gen's office). :lol

Ends with a field of poppies growing where they died. Very touching. :monkey2

Just from your description I remembered. I'm going to break out the box set tonight.
