I think we already had this poll and LOTR was crushed by GOT.

T&A > Hairy Hobbit Feet

I watched one episode of GOT's, hated everybody and never went back. I have friends that love it, just not for me.

I didn't know that... but interesting that GoT won. I would bet on LOTR myself, though I'm torn on which I'd prefer to re-watch right now. I think over the long-haul, LOTR is better, but GoT is more 'modern', less stilted, and I think envelopes you more emotionally with gut-level feelings.

Lord of the rings doesn’t rely on violence for good story and it has more fantasy elements. Got is good and it’s a great story but the reason why people were so drawn to it was cause of all the sex but then the story got really good.

How can people vote when they have only seen 1 episode of GOT. While I don't really like LOTR I've seen all 3 movies. That would be like me saying "I watched one hour of LOTR and stopped"

Well i hate the first episode, i kept falling asleep, i tried multiple times to watch it but its not for me. I find nothing appealing about the show. If you tried watching fellowship of the ring and kept falling asleep because you didnt find it remotely interesting why would you watch more. You dont like it and thats fine. I dont need to watch more of got to know its not for me..And even if i wanted too watch more of it, i would just keep falling asleep or get bored in the 1rst episode so whats the point..

Lol Kind of hard to know politicians they all lie and say whatever they think you want to hear. Those that actually give a **** vote for whatever one they think is lying the least, the rest just vote based on their political affiliation (party) regardless of anything else

Both great, but I can't really compare them.

Not really fair either, since GOT has not ended yet. If I had to decide which one i'd have never known anything about, I'd have to say LOTR would be the biggest loss for me.

Most fantasy was inspired by LOTR or Beowulf (not the movie), GOT is fantastic, but has had less of an impact on my life.

I pick LOTR

I love LOTR and GOT. .for me the two greatest fantasy film/TV franchises ever made so far...LOTR was a big part of my youth with the books and I dreamed and waited over 3 decades for films to be made...and Jackson/Weta crew came thru beautifully. ..I didn't have HBO and didn't see GOT until just prior to season 6 after friends and family told me to see it and it was right up my alley. ..I bought seasons 1-5 dvds for $50 ...I said what the hell...watched 50 episodes in 8 days....I couldn't believe how great it was...I thought season 7 was the worst of the show seasons, but still good...hated the 7 episodes instead or 10 and hated the lapses in time that occurred. ..I voted for GOT for what they did in an incredible 67 episodes.....I also love John Boorman's Excalibur with a passion like LOTR and GOT
