My favorite Christmas movies aren't actually shown anymore, glad I own them on DVD.

1. Rich Little's Christmas Carol
2. Emmet Otter's Jug-band Christmas
3. Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol

Also a Christmas classic in my house: Emmit Otter's Jug Band Christmas. :rock

Oh Emmit..................I love that one, I haven't thought about that in years. I really did love that show, so sweet.....:banana :banana :banana

I was going to say the show with Heat Miser and Cold Miser, is that The year without a Santa Claus? Can't recall, but Now I would have to say Emmit Otter, very fond memories of watching that with my grandma, but the miser brothers for sure number 2.

Scrooged is the only one I watch every year. But Scrooge! (yeah, the musical) is also great. Holiday Inn is better than A White Christmas (everybody's picking the remake - yeesh!)

Gremlins and Gremlins 2 are also high on my list. And I'll probably have to pick up Elf - I remember liking it in the theatre, but I haven't seen it since.

I remember when I was a kid watching a Rankin/Bass Christmas special about a little donkey with long ears who eventually carried Mary to Bethlehem. It's not one that they have replayed much or bundled on DVD with the better known and more successful stop motion specials, but I still remember it. At one point he is thrown out in the cold and his mother finds him and keeps him bundled up warmly through the night, but freezes to death in the process. I remember crying my eyes out when it happened--I was a traumatized little boy after that Christmas special, I can tell you that much.

oh yeah! Holiday Inn -- Astair and Bing's original rendition of White Christmas. Pure joy!

That's the nicest thing that anyone's ever done for me....thank you very very very muuuuuuuuccchhhhh! (sorry....got carried away to know that there's at least a couple of you (Dave included) who know and appreciate this movie.)

Christmas Vacation is my favorite, but as far as the best Christmas movie? It's a Wonderful Life.

For TV shows, I love the Johnny Bravo christmas special with Donny Osmond.

1. The Bishops Wife (Cary Grant version)
2. Its a Wonderful Life (..which gets pretty dark in some scenes)
3. Charlie Brown Christmas special
4. Rankin Bass Rudolph the Rednose Reinder (Did you guys ever see the Mad TV version?)
Absolutely hysterically funny
5. Christmas Carol (George C. Scott ver)
6. A Midnight clear (Peter Berg, Kevin Dillon, Ethan Hawke, Gary Sinise, Frank Whaley:
WW2 drama during the Battle of the Bulge) No one has ever heard of this flick which is a shame.

You want to know something really cool? I saw Scrooge on my birthday, during its opening weekend in the theater, back in 1970. I think I went back twice to see it again that year.

I don't know how old I was, but I saw it in the theater and I was young enough that the ghost of Christmas-yet-to-come gave me nightmares.

I've seen it and loved it! Almost bought it on DVD once, but it was full screen so I passed. Now it's out of print and goes for more than fifty bucks on eBay.
