I always thought of Plains,Trains and Automobiles as a thanksgiving movie,but if it's considered a Christmas movie than that's on my list also. And I agree the ending is a total heartbreaker.
That one scared the piss out of me as a kid. I don't know why, but I still can't make myself watch it. There was something very dark to it.

Great List!!!! I agree, except I might move Christmas Story to the top. I also really liked Elf and The Ref.

For me it was Bernard and the Genie, which seems to have only been shown in the UK once years ago and never gotten any form of official DVD release 
and I can't find the copy taped off the TV.

Hands down for me its "Christmas Story"... always been a favorite and no movie has come close to taking the crown. The wife's favorite is the original Grinch cartoon.
