lol:rotfl

bale being jim carrey, he sure was. kinda spoils the "eeew" moments in that flick.:lol

I've always wondered if the role wasn't written for Carey to begin with and he turned it down in favor of doing more comedies. Knowing how much of a method actor Bale is, it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case and he just modeled the character after Carey.

I've owned this movie now for many, many moons and have never watched more than the first 10 minutes of it. :lol For some reason I just get annoyed with Bale being Jim Carey.

THAT SCENE IS ONE OF THE VERY BEST KILL SCENES EVER

It's hysterical that you have such a strong opinion of the fiilm after only watching 10 minutes of it. It's a great black comedy, and to be honest, i didn't like the film early on either. After a couple viewings i stopped looking at Patrick Bateman as the villian, and started seeing him as the AWESOME anti-hero he is. But you wouldn't know that because you never made it past the 10 minute mark :slap :lol

I'm sorry I've seen this film in it's entirety over 50 times and he NEVER ONCE reminded me of Jim Carrey.

Dude, if you don't see Jim Carey in Bale in the flick, let alone that murder scene fosing posted, you're either not familiar with Jim Carey (and mistook him for Drew Carey?) or a supreme apologist for bad cinema.

American Pyscho is awesome. Watch it, then judge. Otherwise, you're wrong.

Btw, I grew up with Jim Carry. Seen 80% of all his movies, and nothing in AP comes across as anything Jim Carry did in his entire cinematic career. :lol

Kinda....but still. Finish the damn movie. It's hilarious.

I may toss it in the cue for Halloween movies. It can't be worse than Survival of the Dead. :monkey1:lol

I still don't see it :taz

Though, now I'm wondering how it would've been with Carey in the role. Bale's a good enough actor to tell me that Carey would've worked, but given that Carey's a comedian, much like when Robin Williams plays a psychopath, it would've been all the more creepy. :lol

Funniest death scene: Pineapple Express. Black dude coming out of manhole gets crushed by a Daewoo Lanos car....Man exits car yelling "you just got killed by a Daewoo Lanos mutha ____a! How ya like me now?!"

Then proceeds to shoot the dead man's foot with a shotgun...

:lol

I think Carrey as Bateman would've been interesting. He's great in dramatic roles, and him being a killer would be a very interesting thing. Especially if he did it earlier in his career.

Sorry, but that is SO Carey. I can't watch the scene and not think about Bruce Almighty.

Halloween III's "misfire"
