Im just tired of seeing the wolf-man I want a werewolf that you look up at shelf at night and you jump looking at those glowing yellow eyes. of course for 1/6 scale it would have to be close to 15" to make it ominous for 12" figures

I thought the best werewolf design in terms of its impressive nature and movement, was by far Van Helsing.

Me too, mate. I'm really interested to see what they do with both their AWIL & their The Thing line. I don't even know if the PCS AWIL bust is going to be life-size or scaled down.

Even though it won't be as impressive I'm kinda hoping scaled down so I'll be better able to afford it.

100% agreed, good sir. For me, the film will also never be topped in the werewolf genre. A true masterpiece in every sense of the word that is a huge success as both a horror & a dark comedy.

Never liked or understood the appeal to the American Werewolf in London design.
Looks like an overly shaggy gorilla/terrier hybrid IMO.

Plus the fact that it only walks on all fours is a big nono.


My ideal werewolf is very slender, 8' + tall, must be primarily bipedal and the head has to be very wolf-like but with the obvious demonic/evil twist.

As far as fur goes, I like both fully furred and furless werewolves. What I can't stand is long or shaggy fur on werewolves.

Though this one seems to have long fur on it's neck, it comes closest to my ideal design I think (minus the armor, obviously).

It's concept art from the Werewolves vs Gladiators movie that I believe was going to be made by Dog Soldiers director Neil Marshall:

How cool would a PF of that be.

The problem is the CGI these days. Despite how great the design may be you can't beat having an actual physical prop on set; a reason why creatures like Alien, Predator, JP T-Rex, etc, etc, are longer remembered and loved for their practical effects greatness.

The transformation scene is one of, if not the best werewolf transformation scenes too, both in terms of practical effects and the scene itself.

I agree 100% with this, but IMO, in terms of raw impressiveness for a figure/statue I would love to see those werewolves from Van Helsing, although I have always loved the AWIL. And I agree i can't see any CGI creature having the same effect as the life props from Alien, Predator, etc...I will die a fan of those.

That's pretty much my ideal werewolf too, bipedal but with a wolf's head. (Think about how scary it would be if you saw a wolf walking on two legs?) I would want it dressed either in rags or in something approaching medieval attire, to look like one of those creepy old medieval woodcuts depicting werewolves preying on the innocent.

It's really a glaring hole in 1/6 horror figures in general that no one has given us a solid generic werewolf.

I agree we have so many wolf men figures but not a standing tall werewolf. I estimate in 1/6 scale he would be 13.75" or 14" tall. the joints of legs would be something interesting with a hinge at what looks like a back knee.hinge toe articulation and pivot at ankle, hidden by fur. and joint and pivot at knee. thigh pivot allowing for full range of motion. A full ab crunch on a rubberized torso completely rooted with fur, articulation at bicep, elbow wrist and possibly pose-able fingers since they will be larger than 1/6 scale hands.(similar to major blood hands but made to look fur like bony fingers with claws. the neck would need to have several articulation and maybe a rubber sleeve covered in fur so it had full range of motion for standing tall or on all 4's. This is possible I think sideshow or hot toys is due for a awesome werewolf figure. I hope for something beyond a statue.

I think hot toys wont make one unless its a popular movie, Sideshow might since they sometimes do artistic figures and a wearwolf doesnt have to be from a particular movie. if they did a Hodge podge mix they can avoid copyright since there is alot of artistic rendering of were wolves.
