Wouldn't it be more meaningful if people described why they liked the movie they posted instead of listing a huge column of titles?

Oldboy - an incredible revenge tale with an ending that left me speechless. (korean)

Fritz Lang's Metropolis - possibly the first full length sci fi film. (german)

Abre Los Ojos - trippy romantic sci fi movie. Was remade in English starring Tom Cruise. (spanish)

Audition - creepy Japanese romantic horror film. Made me afraid of Japanese women for a while. Directed by Takashi Miike!

The Host - Awesome (and recent ) Korean kaiju/giant monster movie. Great sfx.

Those are just a few I can think of at the moment.

- hero, fist of legend, fearless (3 of jet li's best movies)

- ip man (biography of bruce lee's mentor, starring donnie yen)

- connected (hong kong remake of cellular that's way better than the hollywood original starring paul walker and kim basinger)

- grave of the fireflies (my favourite miyazaki animation)

- letters from iwo jima (clint eastwood's underrated war drama)

- cinema paradiso (always reminds me why i love movies and cinema so much)

The Zatoichi Film series (including the 2003 remake)! :D
I probably like Zatoichi and the Chess Expert the most, although I have yet to watch them all.
I should also mention Ninja Scroll, the first Ghost in the Shell movie, and Akira are faves as well.

The Seven Samurai - It's simply a masterpiece that influenced almost everything else.

8 1/2 - One of the first movies I remember seeing that wasn't a straight narrative. Creativity at its best.

The Seventh Seal - A beautiful film about belief and God.

Aguirre, The Wrath of God - I love all the films Herzog and Kinski did together. I think this is their most powerful.

Yeah, like others here, I'm partial to anything Bergman or Kurosawa. I'm also a fan of "Hell in the Pacific," which is both English and Japanese language (best to watch without subtitles). A real tour-de-force by both Mifune and the great Lee Marvin.

Some of the ones you have mentioned are some of my faves, but I'll throw some in that you guys haven't mentioned.

Let The Right One In- AWESOME MOVIE. If you haven't seen it, DO IT

District B13- The movie has some of the best fights/stunts I have ever seen.

Nosferatu- Well, this is just a classic to me.

I totally agree. Great performances by both actors.
