Howl's Moving Castle
My Neighbor Totoro
Apocalypto
Kung Fu Hustle

No John Woo fans?

Bullet in the Head
Hard Boiled
Seven Samurai (of course)
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Run Lola Run
Ju On

I'd add Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and Howl's Moving Castles but those are three rare films where I prefer them dubbed. The American voice action was very strong, IMO.

La Haine, Akira and Amelie to name a few but these were the first to pop into my head.

I am interested to know if the people on here who have picked movies that have dubbed option watch it that way?
I can't watch dubbed movies. They usually take something away from the movie.
Here are a few more favourites
Kung Fu Hustle
Akira (not dubbed)
Spirited Away (not dubbed)
I don't find subtitles distracting especially once I'm really into the movie

I don't do dubbed. Usually it totally takes me away from the movie...because I'm watching how good the dub is and I find it horribly distracting. Would much rather have subtitles.

Once when I was on a bus in Panama they were showing a Japanese movie, dubbed in what I think was German with Spanish subtitles. Talk about horribly wrong....

I forgot to add Apocalypto and The Passion. I thought Mel did a fantastic job with both of these movies and loved the fact he made them in Mayan and Latin.

I think you guys got them all . . lol

I have seen a few recently and really enjoyed them . .

OldBoy - I am currently trying to get others to watch this one. Just really great all around.

Ichi the Killer - Over the top, cartoonish at times, violence and some great characters.

Nightwatch - I really liked this and am looking forward to seeing Daywatch. Interesting take on Good vs. Evil or Light vs Dark . . .

Awesome thread!!
For me:

- El Violín
- Sobrenatural
- La invención de Cronos
- Amores Perros
- El Laberinto del Fauno
- Y tu mamá También
- City of God
- El día de la Bestia
- Tesis
- Amelié
- Elisa antes del fin del Mundo
- Hero
- Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

And many more that I'm surely missing!!

I also forgot Volver and El Mariachi

Here's my favorites...

La Femme Nikita
Hitlerjunge Salomon
Die Falsher
Travolti da un insolito destino nell'azzurro mare d'agosto (great comedy)
Zwartboek
Antikorper

I prefer subtitles to dubbing. Dubbing often ruins the drama of the scene and nothing is worse than a dubbed voice that doesn't match what you would think the actor would sound like.

going off the tp of my head are:
Flash Point
Hero
Fearless
Ong Bak
The Protector
Letters from Iwo Jiwa
~~just ordered a copy of Ip Man on Blu based on the referral from my friend. hopefully it'll be here in a week or so.
