Hi mate.

Yeah, it sucks doesn't it. Unfortunately, life is cruel and unfair. A horrible life lesson that my family and I have to accept.

Glad you saw the post though dude, you're another one who I have always had good interactions with. :1-1:

I'm still here though, functioning the best I can.

Definitely! We had some good times! Hanging out here and at that Monsterplace (forgot it's name), you helping with sigs and stuff. You're definitely one of the good guys. :duff

Life really can be cruel indeed.

Looking at your post about short term goals I hope you can celebrate Christmas to the fullest with the ones you love. And then on to your birthday in March!

I really hope we'll have you with us here for a long time to come.

I've made so many sigs on this forum. Worth checking out my started threads list if anyone is interested. Had so many good times just making them for everyone.

We willl see bud, could be here for an extended period however I might not be. Short term goals only these days. 🫡😇

Hi all.

For those that know me, you may have noticed my lack of activity of the past few months.

Unfortunately, at the start of 2024, I received the devastating news that I have terminal stage 4 bowel cancer (age 36). It's been an awful year, however after 20 cycles of chemotherapy and a major colon resection (I now have a stoma), I'm still fighting. Given my diagnosis it's almost a miracle I'm still here now.

Anyway, cancer aside, I just wanted to reach out to you guys on here. Initially I was happy to just fade away and no longer post here - other things become priority. However, given the good times I've had here since 2010 and the good people I've connected with, I just wanted to let people know of my situation.

This forum was a key part of my mid-20s and early 30s. So many good times!

Hope you all have a good Christmas and New Year.

Andrew (greygoose).

Oh man goose, I'm sorry about all of your troubles. You're strong, you're fighting and that's all that matters. Sometimes the only thing we can do is persevere. I wish life was easier.

I was the primary caretaker for my mother and was with her up to the end earlier in the year. It just seems like 2024 was selected to be a horrible year in general.

I was always happy to see you around here and reading your posts. I still have a few of the sigs you made for me back from years back.

You take care of yourself, bud.

Sorry for your loss mate. ❤️

That's it really, persevere and survive day by day.

Appreciate you replying bud, lots of good people still around these parts. :1-1:

Oh my God Andrew. I'm so sorry brother. This is devastating to hear. I hope you can still keep fighting. I miss the old days of us all over the boards having a fun time talking about figures. It's just different now. I hope you continue to fight and get healthy if you can
Sincerely, Mike Ecko

Will keep fighting buddy.

Just so hard and exhausting. :sleep

Hope you're doing OK too. ❤️

Sorry to hear about what you've been battling @greygoose

I hope you've been able to find some joy in the moments you have had sense your diagnosis (easier said than done, I'm sure). It's incredible to hear about the courage folks like you have to keep fighting when so few of us (myself included) actually know what it's like to battle something like cancer.

I know it probably doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but I still happily use the Obi-wan sig you made me a couple of years ago and haven't had any desire to change it since.

@Solidus I can't image what you went through while taking care of your mom. I take care of both of my parents at the moment and I honestly just don't want to image what it will be like when the time comes. I hope you've been able to heal some throughout the year since her passing.

Thanks man, and I wish you all the best in your battle with this. You’re in my prayers.

It’s still good that this community is active. I usually take some time off, but I keep coming back.

I don’t think anything can prepare you for the loss of a parent and I think about my mother everyday. I’m also an only child with no family to lean on which makes it harder.

It’s great that you’re caring for and spending time with your folks, you’ll cherish the memories that you’re making with them.

The fight is hard. More bad days than good - but still, there's been plenty of good days still this year. Just have to keep going.

The sig does mean a lot too. So happy to have made so many for you guys on here. 🤗
