You mean like pieces you have to assemble? I can already hear the bellyaching :lol

I'm fine without it being included, but at the same time it wouldn't ruin my day either. If it looked good I could use it, if not it'd just stay in the box.

I meant something more like this, but you have Sidious's hands premolded to the source point, but the lighting itself, although wide, is made mainly flat and you can tuck it in the back of the blister.

I see what you mean, so his hand, or wrist would be one piece with the lightning. Interesting... but I'd like something more 3D if they were to attempt this.

I personally would prefer the more flexible stuff that Hasbro used for lighting. The color looked was more light/translucent and it held up by itself pretty good. It could also be squeezed together to fit into the Sideshow 1/6 scale packaging. Not to mention the flexible nature of the material used you could wrap it around a potential victim or even lightsaber. This is the material I'm thinking about:

Look at that picture above, now who can really with a straight face say they are happy with the exclusion of Sith lighting.

I'll admit, with so sophisticated a quality in this line, the lightning would be a somewhat toyish inclusion given you're trying to create something thin and intangible in 3D form, however, with this particular character, it is as trademark as a lightsaber is to a Jedi, and Palpatine was the first and best taste of Sith Lightning in the films. For Count Dooku, it's an unneeded accessory, but for Palpatine, it makes him who he is.

I would much rather see someone like Hurrican tackle it with a tesla coil or something... Now that really would be awesome. :emperor

Very true.

Looks like blue spaghetti instead of blue lightning.

Yes and blue lightsabers look like large blue toothpicks, nothing is perfect. We accept and use our imaginations for the lightsabers we can do the same for the lighting.

People, people, it's all about OPTIONS!! There's nothing that says anyone HAS to use the Sith lightening. It'd just be nice to have the option.

Personally, I'd have my ROTJ sitting in his throne, but my ROTS Sid would be a mad ligthening user. Then Red Palpatine would have the lightsaber. Three levels of bad-assness!

Exacty!

Unlimited Options = Unnnnlimitedddddd Powerrrrrrrr!!!! :emperor:emperor:emperor

I know it might not looks as sophisticated, but it amuses me how some people see Darth Maul's wrist comlink as an essential accessory that makes a figure pointless without it, but with the Ultimate Sith Badass, people think his signature weapon would be a dumb accessory to include. And I'm not singling anyone out or saying anyone against the Sith Lightning was making comments on Maul, just speaking in a broad Star Wars fandom sense of confusion.

"Options" is exactly the reason why lightening would make a great expansion pack. Why make people pay $10, $20 or whatever it would cost for something they may not like?

If SSC can offer an accessory pack with lightening premolded onto hands I think thats a win win for everyone and can be switched between ROTS and the eventual ROTJ figures. Maybe the pack can also contain a midchange or extra angry head sculpt.

I am a little uncertain however if the lightening can be made light enough to allow the arms and wrists to support the weight. The Buck doesn't always have the tightest of joints.

With the right materials, I imagine the lightning could weigh as little as an ignited lightsaber. As for the $10-$20 increase in cost, I'd wager the overall figure cost would increase at most $5 because of the lightning hands; my guess is the primary costs to SSC to make these figures come in paying the head sculptor, the costume, and the license, and the smaller accessories are just low cost additions. I can't see lightning hands being equated with a magnetic Mynock as far as price hiking; Mace came with the Jango Helmet and that didn't cost anymore than the regular edition. There are some OK other things that could be nice for an expansion pack, but nothing really worthwhile, mainly things that would only sell to get the hands. The lightning is key for this character. I'm sure something will be done for ROTJ version and with the standard hands, you can just use those when the time comes, but it would have been great to get some with this set.

One thing they could do is have a swappable charged hand. One that has a little lightning around it. Maybe like in a ball or spherical shape?

Just a bit for some pop, but not a giant unweildy thing.
