While i'm excited for the Hobbit, for me it's somewhat anticlimatic that the LOTR were made first.

The biggest emotional impact has occurred already, the destruction of the ring.

While Hobbit will be fun and exciting, nothing will provide me that emotional ending.

Don't judge things too early. There will be plenty of emotional impact during these films. It may not quite be the same but just wait.

You don't know what Jackson has in store for us.

Hmmmm......I'm surprised you have started an Avengers poll of some sort. :lol

But I know the books, so I kinda know. :(

Poll time. :rotfl

I hope so.

I can't believe we're a month away from this. :yess:

both are awesome series, didn't have a problem with either, but overall I would say the lotr films are better, but I like the character of batman more

None of these are boring to me. There are bits I'm not big on or I don't like but really those are few over the course of the three films. Some of what I've seen mentioned as being "meh" are parts hat help add depth to the story. For me this is why these three films are better than any trilogy is because the depth provided by Tolkien trumps all.

But you have to see how some might see them as boring. They're long... They're slow.... They're drawn out...... And my goodness does dorkier get any dorky than Middle Earth does? :lol I don't find them boring. I love the depth and slower pace much of the trilogy has. In fact, once you go EE, there's no going back to the theatricals. That's just my opinion at least.

I just had a SW marathon last weekend. I'm doing LotR EE next weekend and once TDKR hits, I'll have a Nolan Batman marathon. Whatever wins or loses in these popularity contests, they're still all amazing to me and I do love them. Where's the Indy poll? I hope to get those on Bluray for Christmas!

I'm sure some do but I don't so I personally don't care if they think that way. I'm not into it because of them so their opinion of them being boring means little to me. As far as them being dorky that's fine with me. Though, I'd argue that there are things worse than lotr. I agree that the EE just push the awesomeness to the next level.

I enjoy lolz with my Batman greater than LOTR/SW lists but the reality is that the EE are masterpieces.

The long ending of ROTK doesn't even bother me one bit, if anything it leaves a lump in my throat.

I just hope for an Extended Extended Edition where Nolan's Bruce Wayne also gets on the ship. :lol

I laughed at the list. I knew you were just messing with me.:lol I agree the level of excellence in the EE is even better than the TE.

The number of times moments get to me in this trilogy makes me a big ass baby.

Well, so far this year my favorite movies have been:

Avengers, TDKR, ASM, Expendables 2, Dredd, Sinister, Skyfall.

If I had to pick top 4 in no particular order:

Avengers, TDKR, Dredd, Skyfall.

Voted LOTR. Both are in my top 5, but I'm a ringer before all. Thanks to the movies in this poll Nolan and Jackson are my two favorite directors, followed by Burton.

Also, never read comics, but I've read LOTR countless times.

You accidentally gave one to the wrong flick. I changed it for you though. :wink1: :lol

I'm sure once I watch Looper it will replace Expendables 2. :lol

For my most fun time in a movie theater in my adult life, that goes to Avengers.

Incredible opening night that was.

For best movie presentation, 15/70 TDKR, blown away every single time.

Best OST, TDKR. (Skyfall second).

But TDKR also wins for biggest let down from whatever it was I was expecting. :lol

Best surprise of 2012, Dredd. (2nd place Catwoman).

Best villain, Silva (MaMa Dredd second)

Worst villain, Talia.

Best comeback for a second time, Skyfall. (CR being the first time)

Best movie moment of 2012 so far:

Drum Roll Please......

Hulk smashing Loki. :bow

Brought da house down.

TDKR is a flawed movie in its current state, that could change with some tinkering.

When I say let down, I don't mean that I wasn't entertained.

Quite the contrary, I was, still a good movie, just not the uber grail I had hoped for.

It just needs a Hulk smashing Talia scene. :lol
