Which horror movie remake is the best?

I say Friday The 13th hands down. No contest. After that I'd ride with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and then The Hills Have Eyes. Rob Zombie's Halloween doesn't make my list,I'd like to forget it happened.

The exact same order for me too, the hills have eyes was such an awesome remake! Nothing tops the new Friday out of that list.

Even though i'd rank Halloween last I still liked it alot. Only a few things to fault Halloween on but overall it was decent. Myers looked good.

that was the only thing that I liked about Halloween,the way he looked. He looked badass.

I'd have to say DAWN OF THE DEAD. I really liked it. The original is still far more superior, but the remake wasn't to shabby.

TCM because it had characters I cared about and thus was a bit intense at times.

Hills was a bloody god time but almost was too faithful to the original thus it took away any fear factor.

F13th was a dissapointment. bad characters means no scares cause I don't care and bad kills equals boring. I wanted Jason to be scarry but because most of the charaters were basically a holes I found myself cheering for Jason. My fav. Friday films were the ones were there was at least one or two "Teens" that I liked. The most I was on the edge of my seat in this one was hoping that

RZ Halloween was just OK.

Why was the remake of TCM needed? The original is a classic and still better than the remake.

wow, almost forgot it was a howard hawks remake. carpenter IS the howard hawks of horror. I doubt the Thing will be topped as best horror remake in a long long while. heres fingers crossed that Nightmare, H2, and Hellraiser won't be abominations of the genre.


edit: the new pinhead doesn't look too terrible.

ill swallow this because the first two were so good i can continue to revisit them if i want. i will always prefer the sleek symmetry of his graph head.

Friday 13th (best Michael out of all of them, he was so intimidating looking...and then he starts hauling ass after people, no more moping along)

woops. after bothering to read the fangoria article, i realize that pinhead is a re-design by the original make-up artist for the series in response to fears that they will totally butcher the original pinhead in favor of something 'completely different.'
