While I no doubt agree with psychological effects of color, I'd like to add that I've never seen a blue plate at any restaruant I've ever been in, nor have I ever seen a red tablecloth.

Perhaps you're colour blind.

All I know when it comes to colours, is reds are a warm colour and blues are a cool colour. lol

How did I come to that theory? :monkey3 lol

I've seen a lot of red tablecloths at restaurants. It's a very common color. It is usually a deep red. I think I've only seen one restaurant with blue plates. Of course, Blue plates would only be used when the restaurant wants people to eat LESS food during an all you can eat special.

I'm going to ask Dave to start a new "culinary" section so we can further contemplate the red vs. blue plates/tablecloth discussion. Stay tuned for further updates.

Lets do it! I always say action speak louder than words. Lets make this happen people! I am always up for plates/tablecloth discussion! :chew

Maybe nobodies seen any blue plates in restaurants because those ones have all gone bust.

Color has inherent physiological effects. This is why restaurants have blue plates when the have all you can eat, because the color blue has been proven to curb appetite, and when restaurants want people to eat more, they have red tablecloths, because red is proven to stimulate appetite. Maroon is associated with high brow establishments and appeals to the wealthy, while it tends to turn off less financially successful people from going into those shops decorated with that color. Faber Birren wrote many books on the subject. It brings a whole other dimension of understanding to comic book character costumes, and what colors truly best represent what they stand for.

That explains my conflicting feelings on devouring the tri-monthly Spider-Man comics!

No, I see it as someone who likes to read and educate themselves.

Also, is intelligence absorbing information and retaining it? Or is intelligence applying that absorbed information, and using it to make something with it?

Anyone can take in information, it's a matter of how you apply it, or how you can use that information to improve yourself or situation.

True.

Application of knowledge does show intelligence-it shows that it has crystallized and one is able to improvise with the knowledge gained.

And like Deadly's comment about the color, mine was not to be taking seriously.

I was only pointing out the analysis of a comment was misplaced, perhaps an over analysis. Even Freud said that sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.:peace

The real Iron Man? Is there a question? He has this Avatar:

Suit80.jpg

well here are the answers

Picture A: the fake is on the left

Picture B: The fake is on the right

Picture C: obvious the fake is on the right

Here is what the real one has:

1.The real ironman has a sort of maroon color to it, its noticeable.

2.The whole back portion of ironman is completely more wider than the fake one

3. The cracks on the base, as you can tell on the real one theres more to it.

4. last but not least, weight!! about 5 pounds heavier than the fake one

5. For the head, obviously the pin!!! nicely fresh colored eyes and the head is bigger than the fake one.

About the fake ironman:

This ironman came in three seperate pieces and you have to put together the arms. The problem is that the arms keep falling down, so you have to get some kind of museum gel to make it stick into ironman. It did not come in an original box or anything, simply a carton.

last but not least, my opinion on the fake:
First and foremost i was suprised as it looked really really dam good, only a pro!!! can tell the difference its an excellent representation, that left me shocked.. i hate to say it but im honest. there are other recast out there that you dont have to put together, those simply have horrible paint jobs, so if you are planning on getting a fake, make sure its the one that you put together. Would i get it? yes if i did not have the money. However, what i read in this thread is true, if you are going into this hobby then you better realize that it is expensive and nothing is cheap thats why i went into this hobby and got myself the REAL DAM THING!!....ill try to post more pictures. My camera is not that good, ill try to get a much better one.

I just compared it to mine the one on the left in the first photo is fake do to the Cracking on the ground. The marks are different

I cheated and used the dust trick as well... I guessed right after reading the whole thread. I don't wanna hear about red vs blue unless I/m playing Halo and not at dinner LOL!

I knew it all along...I could tell by his left arm. On the fakes they don't go back as high as the authentic one.....
