I think I voted for Asajj. I know darn well I never would have voted for ANY Padme figure. Although I am ecstatic to get ANY Sideshow Star Wars 12" figure (or LOTR for that matter), Padme would be in the bottom 2% of figures I would prioritize.

I actually voted for Grand Admiral Thrawn. I'm such a big fan of that character... would probably custom make a painting for him to be scrutinizing or something. Best written villain in the Star Wars literature, IMO... close second being Nom Anor.

I voted for Padma since she was losing at the time and I didn't have any intention of getting back in to collecting Star Wars stuff. Shoulda voted for Mara Jade though because she's the one I want most from that list. Quinlan Vos being a close second.

I hadn't joined here and didn't know about SS while this poll was going on. I would've voted for Asajj so I was extatic when she was announced. I really hope to get all 6 characters because I am a big fan of the EU.

You mean "film" character. EU characters are canon too you know! (Vos got a mention in ROTS, and Aayla even made an appearance!)
I *think* I voted for Vos. But since then Sideshow has more than satiated my appetite for Jedi, so if a vote were held again I'd probably go for Thrawn.

Thus, Vos and Secura *are* canon... because they appeared or were mentioned in the films. The others are not.
It's pretty simple, really: If Lucas created it (or put it in the movies), it's canon. If it comes from some other writer then it exists outside of Lucas' canon universe. It's called Expanded Universe for a reason.
And I'm not a default EU hater. Some of it (KOTOR, Animated Clone Wars, the James Luceno novels) I love. In fact, some of that stuff is better than the prequels, imho, and I wish it were canon.
