Blimey, there aren't half a lot of moaning old windbags on here. :gah:

I got called out on generalising that the majority would vote "Chris Reeve Is The Best SUPERMAN" if such a poll had actually existed, so to test my own generalisation...I formed the poll.

So, quit whining and vote already!

Good one :lol

But you know what I mean.
There's two art-style Burton's "Batman" and Nolan's blockbuster trilogy so obviously the recent one gettin' more attention.

I voted for Reeve and if there was a choice of film i'd have picked Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut

Reeve of course, but for his era, Reeves did a fantastic job playing both Kent and Superman. The jury is still out as to whether Cavill will define Superman for this era, but I say the outlook is pretty good.

For Superman maybe, but save for the homeless looking dude, we haven't seen a Clark yet.

Could be that there isn't much of the 'Clark Kent, mild mannered reporter' in MoS at all. Could be that he only gets to that stage at the very end - so that side of things may not be explored much with this Superman until we get a sequel

Not to take away from all the other great actors, but Christopher Reeve makes everyone else seems to merely "dress up" as Superman. :)

That's probably what's going to happen. It seems to be very much like BB. In MOS, he will be making his persona, and the "classic" superman will probably moly begin with the sequel.

So true! I guess that for me, I've regarded all the actors that followed or preceded him as "actors in a suit playing superman" but with CR, as ridiculous as it may sound, I've always seen him as the genuine article. Silly, I know it, but probably due to the fact I was a kid when I saw that movie in a theater. That was one of my greatest childhood memory.

I personally think Routh did a pretty damn good job (understanding that he was emulating Reeve in some ways), but the movie was mediocre.

I agree wholeheartedly. Routh channeled a great Reeve and deserved better. Spacey was even better at aping Hackman.

The movie itself was bland, though, and don't even get me started on that casting disaster that was Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane.

The best thing about that Dean Cain Superman show was that it gave us this character.

Who was inspired by Andy Berman's creepy whatever villain in that episode about whatever ****. I don't know. But I saw it, and all I see is Dib.

He also was the voice of Dib.

I couldn't stand that show when I was a kid.
