WHO IS THE BETTER LEADER?????

Luthor has been Superman's archenemy for most of the superhero's existence, having been envisioned as his dual opposite; morally depraved and relying on intellect over strength. Rather than harnessing his genius for good, Luthor seizes power for his own benefit and is a threat at large.






Think of it this way, which would you choose to be your President or in case there was an alien invasion, who would you like to follow????

I like them both pretty equally, but Lex fails at leading. He's better when it's just him and minions. But when he gets other super villains involved, it's all over. Magneto can rile up those damned mutants good and KEEP THEM TOGETHER! It's the one thing Lex can't do. He just can't keep the team of villains together. Magneto makes you believe that he is right no matter what. Lex just buys you off.

I am a die hard Superman fan and this was a tough one because the "Who" really depends on who is writing that character. I've seen both Magneto and Lex be written as hardcore *******s but at the same time written as buffoons.

I would have to go Magneto, Lex doesn't want to get his hands dirty usually preferring to manage from the off screen while Magneto usually is written to the point where he's not afraid to kill you....

I'll go with Magneto! Luther was a good leader as the President during the Imperiex arc but Magneto is more revered and merciless.

Magneto is certainly the better leader and I think is portrayed as far more than a one dimensional villain. They often make him sympathetic in the comics and these days he fights with the X-Men as often as against them.

He's a bad guy but not the baddest guy and you kinda get where he's coming from a little bit.

He's damaged because of what happened in his past and it's sort of understandable why he hates humanity.

Lex Luthor I really like as a villain, but you're not sympathetic to him at all and he's not much of a leader. He can just about keep the other villains in order whenever he forms the Legion Of Doom or the Injustice Gang, but they don't really follow him.

I like these threads you're coming up with Toe, sparking some really fun comic book debate here.

I think Lex IS smarter, but just doesn't work as well with a group. He's not as good as leading and controlling people. He kept screwing up the Legion of Doom for his own agendas, but Magneto made his agenda your agenda.

Yeah if the question had been whose smarter, my answer might well have turned out to be different.

I agree with SolidLiquidFox that Luthor is a criminal genius and is probably far smarter than Magneto.

I think Magneto makes more of a charismatic leader though and is better at controlling people overall.

What leaders do? They may seem cool on the outside, but they're ALL control freaks with an agenda in the end. They rally the mindless and bend their will to theirs. It's how it is. Even the "good guys."
