Who is the strongest super hero and why?

so far i'm leaning towards beyonder.
but nobody has mentioned any of the characters from vertigo comics like constantine or sandman. if you could call them "heroes".
also, spawn is crazy powerful.

edit: beyonder is totally not a hero.

How about Dr. Strange versus Dr. Manhattan?

um, unless strange isn't composed of any kind of matter, or exists outside of time, i'd go with manhattan.

I'm going to say that the Silver Surfer tops my list. He can do practically anything imaginable, and can survive practically anything (even a trip through a black hole). Galactus' "power cosmic" makes him indestructible to physical attacks, and it even allows him to create matter from nothing. I also read a while back that he has the ability to create life.

A match between the Surfer and Goku would be pretty interesting .

It will always be Superman for me, he's always been my favorite superhero and I just always considered him the most powerful. If it wasn't for his weakness to Kryptonite, I think he would be pretty much untouchable.

Hulk! He can be reverted to Bruce Banner, but as shown in Future Imperfect and Hulk: The End the Banner side can be easily dominated for long periods of time by hulk, and when threatened at all with death Hulk takes over, plus, Banner can techincally die and Hulk still lives on.

Oh please, let's not bring religion into this (things end up going downhill from there). Just for the record though, Horos was never baptized; never crucified; and his father's name was not translated to Joseph, since there was no direct way of translating Egyptian names, etc, etc, etc. It's all just bologna, propagated by some Internet troll. You, my friend, have been a victim of "spin", as Bill O'Reilly would say .

Now, I don't believe that there's anyone who can beat the Silver Surfer. Sure, the Hulk may be strong, but even Goku can beat the Hulk !
