Just wondering, do any of you guys know someone who can do repaints? Preferably in Melbourne? I was going to buy the TMNT Donatello maquette and wanted the bandana repainted purple. I'm not gonna do it myself, because I'd probably screw it up. What's the point in paying an extra $100-$200 on ebay when I can just get the head repainted. Anyway, any information would be helpful. Please let me know. :D

Yeah, I was thinking about going to a model shop and asking around. The nearest one is in the city, so the next time I'm there I'll check it out. Cheers, mate.

Tuggs if you haven't already bought Donatello, Check popcultcha's

Don't remind me. :lol I actually was going to buy it from PopCultcha, but the day I wanted to order it, it had sold out. I called up Mark (owner) to order Donny and to see if he could put my name down for one of each of the other turtles, but he told me that someone went into the store in the morning and bought it. Apparently they only got one Donatello and it wasn't even meant to be an exclusive. It was Sideshow's mistake. Oh well. My fault. I should have ordered it as soon as I saw it. :banghead

Hi bros.. I am applying for Renewal of Residency, so I can go back to Sydney and live there for good. :) Last time I was there was October 2003.. Has it changed a lot there? :(

Also, my hobby back then was collecting NBA cards.. I got into collecting 1:6-scale action figures while in the Philippines.. Are there a lot of retailers in Sydney, particularly in the Parramatta area? I'll be living in Wentworthville (west of Parramatta).

Thanks in advance for your feedback! :duff

Hey LoneWolf, Im in Melbourne but my bro and sis live in Sydney
they seem to like it:D me I prefer Melbourne.
There's plenty of retailers Australia wide were you can buy your
collectibles from so I wouldn't worry about that.
Welcome to Australia fellow Aussie:duff

Buying 1/6 figs and SS items here sucks. Most retailers here buy their stock from a wholesaler in Melbourne, who in turn buy their stock from SS. So essentially you have: SS (wholesale price) - Aus wholesaler price - retail price.

Most HT prices are $50-100 more than RRP (the wholesale price to retailers is the same as the RRP).
What I do is buy directly from HK on eBay; you pay about 50 bucks more, but you get it as soon as its released. Whereas here, you spend the same (or even more), and get it about 2-3 months after release (the wholesaler here is extremely slow).

For SS items, it's best to buy from the US. Alterego is where I normally would buy from, but now SS has reduced their shipping charges to Aus dramatically. For a PF, it used to cost around US$100, now it costs around $50.

On occasion you can find some good deals, but I thought it was best to let you know that it's not that easy to buy here.

Thanks for the tips, Nacho, ChaserFan & xr6.turbo.. I guess I will just stick to online shopping then. I normally buy my 1:6 fodder/parts through eBay, Monkey Depot, Red Planet Toys, & GoodStuffToGo.. They are pretty good when shipping to the Philippines, so I hope they are 'better' at shipping to Australia - since I'll buy my boxed sets from them.

:duff I'd love to retire at Melbourne, but Sydney first while I can still work, haha.. In Melbourne, there's the Crown Casino! :naughty

Earlier today, members of the Melbourne Victory were invited to take a tour of the new Melbourne Rectangular Stadium (or, as it's called now, AAMI Park). Not sure if many of you guys care about this type of thing :lol, but I have to say, this stadium is great. I already prefer it over Etihad Stadium (Telstra Dome) and I think this new stadium will generate a better atmosphere than Etihad, mostly because it's smaller and closer to the action. Anyway, I took about 100 pics, but I won't post all of em. :D I'll post a few just in case anyone want's an idea of what it will be like.

Yeah, I hope so, too. Hopefully Melbourne will host most of the matches if Australia does get the World Cup. Not sure if the other cities have what it takes. ;)
