I love the dark grittiness of both Ledger and Phoenix and it's hard to split them as they're both very different interpretations...Ledger being the already established version from the off...while we only got to see the tip of the iceberg with Phoenix...

That's why i'd love a sequel...i want to see where and how far he could take the insanity of the character...

1) Mark Hamill
2) Joaquin Phoenix
3) Cesar Romero
4) Heath Ledger
5) Jack Nicholson
6) Everybody else.

1. Ledger - He's unrecognizable as the character, unique voice, look, walk, mannerism. He's quotable and he's in arguably the best made Batman film so far and steals the film from a ridiculously talented cast.

2. Nicholson - He's the perfect comic Joker in one of the most iconic Batman films. He doesn't really transform and changes anything because he naturally has a great iconic voice, look, and persona to play Joker effectively. He would have been perfect if he was younger and thinner tho.

3. Phoenix - He's mostly Arthur, and his Joker is barely getting started, but his performance is flawless and his Joker moments are perfect. He's the most realistic version so far, yet still manages to be over the top in a believable way, and that's not easy to do. His physical transformation also helps because you don't see Phoenix, you see Arthur and later the emergence of Joker.

4. Romero - He basically created the role. People say he's the first live action Joker, but I'm pretty sure he's the first Joker period. Nicholson, Ledger, Phoenix, Hamill have all taken from him a little bit. He was the most accurate Joker ever since he was a perfect live action cartoon of the Silver Age Joker from the comics.

5. Various cartoon versions, with Hamill being my favorite.

6. Cameron Monaghan - As Jerome....all the other versions of the character he played including his final official Joker weren't as good as Jerome, IMO.

Nicholson is the only Joker I still have in my toy collection. The cult that developed around Ledger was offputting to me so I sold off any figures of him that I had.

In a way Nicholson will always be my favourite.

However I still haven't seen Phoenix so I haven't voted yet.

People kept making me feel like my stock Hot Toys figures were complete mediocrity - but then you investigate the better of these customs and for some reason the headsculpts cost a grand and the outfits almost as much. **** that. So I just got rid of the damn things altogether.

The Terminator figures aren't perfect either but A) better alternatives simply do not exist and B) if they did I highly doubt they'd set you back over a thousand. That's some weird Heath Ledger Joker tax capitalizing on this bizarre mass obsessiveness about him specifically.

The cult that developed around Ledger was offputting to me.

While I definitely want a TDK Bats and Joker at some point, I 110% agree with this. I can appreciate getting the most accurate figure you can imagine, but the TDK Joker became an obsession to people that grew to be extremely uncomfortable. I am not looking forward to the same thing happening with Joaquin's Joker going forward. It'll be the same, hive-minded "yours isn't good enough" thing all over again. I wouldn't blame HT for passing on this simply because there's no way they could please people with whatever they put out, even if it is extremely good. I mean look at some of the bitterness you see in the 1/4 thread. Mercy on the souls who dare to say they like the stock sculpt.

If they did that, they would barely produce anything. That's the hobby. The deeper you get, the more exacting you want your piece to be.

I only feel sorry for the people who are fragile enough to be infected by someone else's opinion that their "doll isn't good enough". :lol

That said, Joker people are generally the worst. I mean, look who they look up to.

I had to go with Ledger, but it's really tough between him and Nicholson. I did love Joaquin's performance, but
he wasn't 'The Joker' to me for very much of the movie. And I think it would've been better for the film and his Joker transition to show him killing his neighbor.

There was more to it truth be told. I also needed to cut back on Hot Toys generally. I bought the TDK stuff during a time when I was trying to collect everything Hot Toys made. So in the interest of getting some money back in my account and spending less money going forward I guess I 'allowed' myself to be annoyed by the Ledger cult. I used it as an excuse. ''Y'know what, **** it, since all these figures suck apparently, I'll add all this stuff to the for sale list''.
